Trying to map out a build for a blocking FB. Is there a minimum speed number you shoot for to ensure the FB can stay in front of the RB and get to the spot to make blocks? Do you need to match/exceed the RB's speed?

Lets say a power back has 145 speed. Would the FB need 140+ as well? 125? Would 100 be enough?

I like 140, at minimum 130+ and you can help with First Step SA

I just talk to the phb and ehb to find their speeds then try to Mach one of them knowing that I will be too fast/slow for one of them.

As above depends on HBs speed and also %age of outside versus inside blocking.... Adding extra AGL helps get him to the PoA quicker and as Ryan says 1st Step w AGL has imo a better chance of firing

I think 135 with first step is about perfect.

If you have slower 140spd phb 130 is probably OK too.

Fwiw vision is probably the most underrated attribute on bFB, since open field block decisions are hard.

BFB's speed always depends on your PWR HB's speed as you want them to stay out in front to block. Like RC said, I usually shoot for 140 and add the FS SA to help.

Fwiw, I'd recommend using ST archetype FBs for the 0.4 majors in Speed and Blocking. That gives you more AEQ options instead of having to hold out for all Speed gear. You can also be effective your entire career.
