Is there a number of times you can run a play a game before it gets penalized?

Yes

10 rings a bell but don't remember for sure

Do yall know how big the penalty is and does it keep getting worse the more often you run it?

Nope. But, considering how Bort's done other similar 'penalties', I would suspect it does get worse the more you run it.

I thought they changed that with a smaller number but getting worse the higher one goes?

In my mind the repeat play penalty started at 6+ plays. Not sure if that's correct, 10 might be correct.

Keep in mind...
1. The repeat play penalty gets worse the more times (after 6 or 10 depending on what the number is) the play is ran.
2. The RPP does not effect attributes BESIDES defender vision. It only effects defender vision.

Personally, it's hard to run the same play 6+ times. 99% of GLB runs way too many different plays in their OAI with each play being ran 0-2 times, so 99% of people being concerned about the RPP is laughable.

Even if the RPP starts at 6, we likely don't "feel" the effects until 8+, which again you are extremely unlikely to hit with any semblance of a real offense.

Obviously with the OPC we can avoid the RPP on pass plays by creating a play multiple times, if that is a concern and you truly want to 100% spam the same pass play every snap.

My old Palookas squads played a very short playbook in each game, though we swapped plays out from game to game. Wasn't unusual for 2 or 3 of our plays to go past 10 calls. The repeat play penalty didn't ever seem to make much of a difference in the results of the plays.

No penalty at 5 or less calls, starts at 6 calls ramps up to maximum by 10. Wise is correct. It's a rather large boost to vision + tackling, so you will see less broken tackles / more FFum after hitting 10, but honestly - not significantly enough to really deter repeated runs at 10+.

Much more of a problem if you use the same pass that many times, giving defenders all that vision and a KL boost. But like Wise said, if you want to spam something that much, it can be skipped around with the OPC now.

This.

For passing plays, you can completely bypass the penalty by creating 10 slightly different versions of the same play. For running plays, the penalty is not going to matter enough to worry about-- passing a vision check has very little to do with the success of a run.
