Just gotta do the maths. If you want 3 AEQ you can multi train deeper into the third season, if 4 AEQ and paying full price you're gonna need to light train for the 3rd and 4th seasons.

i roll a few at and see what comes up, but lately its all garbage until 51. personally, to me it looked like aeq rolls were still linked to the old system somehow. used to get a few decent pieces, by decent, i mean saved a lot of bts vs building from scratch. +1s are garbage, as are most +2s, and i sure wasnt getting pieces appropriate for the position.
All my dots had all 4 AEQ bought before they hit level 51. Most had theirs right around level 41. Only one dot had trouble and finished with 4 AEQ but one piece was one upgrade short.
As for the argument about higher EL builds going only 3 AEQ? Sure. Know what? If you only get 2 AEQ you'll have an ever bigger EL. Or get only 1 AEQ piece and get an even bigger EL! Or... OR... NO AEQ AND GET THE BIGGEST EL YOU CAN IMAGINE!

Also, all SA's (and VA's) have no effect on EL as well so if you really want that MEGA EL build, never put ANYTHING into Equipment OR SA's. Put it all on skills and build that EL monster. It took me a LONG time to get a good guide for shopping for AEQ that I've used for 10+ seasons now. Trial and error and a lot of note taking.
