Against the Ducks (played low important pass first offense) & GL5WR (played primarily outside run) we have not played anywhere near what our tactics are, and it sucks.

They’re good teams, and having shifty play calling due to a full playbook seems like a hindrance more than a benefit. If inside run is the primary objective, I want to see us inside run. If short yards is inside run, there’s literally no excuse to be running any play not that’s not a run.

If we’re not playing to our strengths, our defense is on the field too long & we’re going to fold against these better teams. Please eventually overhaul tactics.

They kinda suck anyways.

if you have this set to 100% it won't run anything else besides a run

That’s what I’m saying, but I was taught to always remember the .5s (you won’t always be credited a full yard). I think it’s noticeable when you’re 3rd & 1, gain “1 yard”, and are now 4th & inches - It’s just rounding up the gained yardage in the description, but it’s visible in field placement and in the stats that the halves count. These last two games there have been the odd occasion where we don’t play via the tactics when we enter that short yardage situation, hence why I think it’s a bug. Wouldn’t be surprised though if it’s something users should’ve always considered.

P/s: I’m making the assumption not all short yardage situations are the same. Ex: If set to 2 yards, but you’re (theoretically) 2.5 yards away from the first, would that not count as outside the short label?

post your tactics.

I get what you mean about whether or not the 2 is a true 2 or a 3, idk about that would be a good question.

He's correct 2.01 yards is greater than 2, and would fall in a different tactics.

If you want all 3rd and 1 to be a run then set your very short to 1.99 yards.

I tend to go with:

1.5
3.5
7
12

myself.

The code uses rational numbers and what we see rounds to whole numbers. So everything is using rational numbers EXCEPT what we see in the replay.

EDIT: This is why you sometimes have the "X player dives for touchdown" then have the next down before the endzone with 3rd and inches.

Wait, yardage in Tactics will accept decimal points?!? Wow, I've learned something new.

You and me both. Which is why I don't understand the Discord fascination. If GLB2 forums were actually used, knowledge like this would be more widely accessible, and newcomers would see a more active community on the site.

Conversely if you were on the discord you'd have known this months ago, it goes both ways.

It shouldn't have to go anywhere. The game would benefit significantly if communication was done in the forums as intended.
