? This play honestly looks fine, its not like the 3rd down plays that no defender is within like 4 yards and you go out inches from 1st down. those are terrible.

I see your play a lot, but you did just break a tackle to go out of bounds. That could easily be accounted for say a knock back effect or loss of balance causing them to go out of bounds. Also a scenario that the HB is tired of the one play too.

he could have gotten another 10+ by just, running where he turned upfield- instead sideline avoidance causes him to be forced back infield and gives pursuit the tackle chance.

I've always held that what you described is mostly a footwork check being failed when starting a sideline hustle such as this one. And as footwork has become more prevalent, those have lessened dramatically.

Frankly it annoys me that when he does the turn upfield this close to the sideline it forces him to even step a little bit back toward the field when he makes that cut - turning a lead into just being even with pursuit. Then of course, with the full on 'get away from the sideline' mode engaged he just, casually closes the distance for the pursuit instead of making them do it.

What is wrong with that? Is he set to elusive? Elusive HBs are pussies and run out of bounds to avoid muh Contact....looks legit to me

I don't think either of you is seeing what Raid sees. The HB on the sideline drifts back to the outside to give the LBs the tackle chance, he's gone here or at least had a bigger gain. If it's sideline avoidance or just a balance fail I can't say, but I see it.

sure, but HBs are so dominant now....do we need a bigger boost to them?

To me this looks *potentially* like a bug. If it is, it should be fixed, we should always prioritize fixing bugs imo because otherwise we're hoping to balance a Sim with an improper world view - then when the bug later gets found and fixed the current balance didn't account for it existing one way or the other and things get out of whack.

That looked good. He didn’t step out of bounds

tick 191 the guy he is avoiding by going near the sideline gets blocked - if he runs upfield, or even takes a path away from sideline that takes him in an upfield direction this is an easy TD at this point, he hard pivots 90 degrees to cut back in field and get away from the sideline- killing his momentum.

It's as though there is a default logic of 'don't go near the sideline' and then exceptions for when someone is in the way, but once that person is no longer in the way -moving away from the sideline is the imperative rather than moving upfield.

That's exactly what it is. The sideline has a threat value just like players do.

Only thing that stops HBs consistently is random lack of iq lol.

Maybe cte was a quiet update.
