I agree with ZZ and Pwned. It makes sense (possible) for the middle dots (D-line... inside LB's). Another great one is NVG. Cannot express how often I have seen NVG work and work so damn well.


Because D-Line didn't have gang tackle.

btw what is this NVG you're talking about?

Never Give Up. When your dot makes a diving tackle attempt... or gets blocked while attempting a tackle... they show as 'down' or 'caked' (because it also shows the same when your dot gets pancaked)... or, basically, flat on the ground. You WILL notice the difference between dots that have it and dots that don't. Dots that don't you can sit and count the ticks of the clock as they go by before that dot finally rises and gets back into the play. Dots that DO have it pop right back up... sometimes almost instantly.

I've had dots attempt a diving tackle behind the LOS, fall down, get right back up and make the tackle at the LOS or a yard past it. It's probably one of the more awesome ST VA's there is.

Something that may have gotten lost in this discussion...

Gang Tackle is a bonus SA option that can be chosen at creation, or swapped into later at a BT cost.

Coverage LBs have probably 3 choices that are better. KL based dots have to take Jackhammer.

Basically every other dot on defense can benefit from GT as the bonus SA and invest as much or as little as they want and still have some benefit. It's not one of those SAs that you need to take to 8+ for it to work.

All the other stuff being talked about, DvG or NGU and whatever else are VAs that get taken later in the build as dots meet the minimum requirements. Like NGU has a Prerequisite of 300 Fame.

A: It's pretty easy to see about how big they are just by looking at the hashmarks; around a 2 and half foot radius or so, or somewhere around a little less than 2 yds in diameter. So, for gang tackle to work, they need to be just about edges touching, maybe a little gap.


Getting back to the OP's point - the BOOST part there was a Q&A that answered which amongst the three 'tackling' SAs had the strongest boost, and it went Gang > Diving > Wrap.

Personally I like Diving Tackle SA on DEs / Stumps, and it's conveniently already in their tree. 90% of the misses I see from them aren't wrap attempts, but diving tackle attempts on hurdle monkey pHBs.
