1. Depends on the game and tactics, but yes 4th down attempts happen
2. Yes, once you convert your pick up player to a non-pickup player they stop getting xp from pick up games and start getting xp from league and ladder games as long as your on a team.

You should also give your players high contracts as you are sitting on a ton of unused salary.

Sadly, 4th down attempts are mostly random. When you decide to convert a player from pick up to team, make sure tier/ games are same

If your teams are in rookie, don’t use player pick up. Just remake and use experienced catch up feature and save flex. Just use pick up player to build xp to get your superstars

When you go to offensive Tactics, click on the Trailing tab to set what you want your team to do when playing from behind.

But, when it comes to going for it on 4th down it's up to the CPU. Usually it'll punt even at 4th and inches unless you're in the opposing red zone. Then it might go for if your offense has been moving the ball well or you're really behind and need to catch up.

Sadly, as dlcurt said, it's mostly random.

Although, it's probably a good thing the CPU doesn't go for it too often on 4th and inches because we'd probably have a lot more blow-outs.

When you've got the ball you'll be frustrated but when you're on defense you're breathing a sigh of relief. It kinda evens out as a result.
