Good morning everyone and welcome to the season 95 preseason edition of Casual Pro News. I would like to start off by saying congratulations to the University of Tennessee Volunteers for ending a 15 game losing streak against the evil empire. I hope this is a sign that Hattgenstein can do the same against Metal Militia.

Segment 1: Owner interview

Today's guest is the owner of Casual Pro's newest team the Arctic Smurfin' Wolfpack, JcWildcat. I invited co-owner JCJayhawk but he was unable to attend due to prior commitments.

Jayadamo: Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

JcWildcat: There's not a whole lot to say. Hubby and I play for fun and something to do.

Jayadamo: That is awesome. My wife is not a sports fan but I think it would be a blast to do something like this together. In what season did you start your team and how did you come up with the name?

JcWildcat: Somewhere around season 5 or 6. The name was created by a team vote from a bunch of idiots.

Jayadamo: That is interesting, I had no idea Ahoda, gmaj, Sugar, and Strom named your team. Have you had a team in Casual pro before?

JcWildcat: Yes

Jayadamo: How do you think your team will do in their 1st season here?

JcWildcat: Anything above last place will be a miracle

Jayadamo: Lucky for you, with Nassau in the East this season that spot is reserved for my team. What is your pre-season prediction for the championship game and the winner?

JcWildcat: The Grizzlies always destroy us so we'll go with them

Jayadamo: That was my pick last season and they were able to pull it out but this season in the words of Lee Corso, "not so fast my friend". Is there anything else you would like to say?

JcWildcat: Please take it easy on us.

Jayadamo: Ditto. Thank you for joining me and best of luck to your team starting week 2! We will see you all right after this commercial break.

Segment 2: Monty and his Magic 8ball

Welcome back! Our next guest comes to us straight out of Springfield, please put your hands together for Monty Burns and his magic 8ball!

Welcome Monty! I will turn the mic over to you and you can do your thing!

Monty:

Since Jayadamo’s Casual Pro News has gotten a huge positive reception, I thought I would tack on to his success and hopefully make his CasPro News even a little better and possibly help generate even more CasPro interest/discussion. So, I pulled my Magic 8 Ball out of the closet and decided to let it predict this season’s outlook. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_8_Ball What follows are quick team summaries with Unanswered Questions for each team in S95 and the Magic 8 Ball’s historically almost perfect answers to each question for this season.

Granite Peak Grizzlies: I have to start with Kurt Davey’s CHAMPION Grizzlies. After tough playoff loses the last several seasons to the Kops, the Grizzlies routed the Kops in the playoff semi-finals in S94 and went on to beat Shoreline in the finals in OT in one of the wildest Championship games ever, 37-34. The Grizzlies return their full team of d440’s and would certainly like to go into reboot with back-to-back golds. Can they avoid the potential Championship hangover and challenge for a repeat? MAGIC 8 BALL ANSWER: Without a doubt

Shoreline Big Gulp Kickers: S94 playoff championship game runner up Shoreline, a McMunson/JS Avens/MadRocker team, came oh so close to winning their 2nd CasPro Championship losing in OT to the Grizzlies. This followed the S93 CasPro playoff championship game loss by 7 points to the Kops. Shoreline returns their full team of d440’s and their all passing offense can put up huge numbers against any team at any time. Can this team, who is returning all their players, battle for the ring in likely their last CasPro season before re booting? MAGIC 8 BALL ANSWER: It is certain

Steel City Kops: The Kops, after winning the CasPro Championship 3 out of the last 5 seasons and being runner up once, hit the d480 mark with all their S94 players. The incoming crop of players from the Texas Tech Red Raiders farm team will fill this roster and will likely be as strong as the departing players. RocDog will continue to be the OC/DC so a strong showing is likely every game. As this team gutted/added farm team players, team Chemistry will be an early season issue. Can Roc’s O and the solid Kops turnover-based D and ST’s continue its recent CasPro major success? MAGIC 8 BALL ANSWER: Yes, definitely

Charlestown Chiefs: The Chiefs, after winning the CasPro Championship once and being runner up 2 times in the last 5 seasons, also are resetting after hitting the d480 mark. Their players from their Las Vegas Stunners farm team will fill this roster and will also likely be as strong as the departing players. Of course, Sunder will continue to run the O/D and hopefully his new “real life” job will not interfere to much with his game planning. This team will also face Chemistry issues after reforming. Can the Chiefs continue to be one of the top CasPro teams after the last 20 seasons of success? MAGIC 8 BALL ANSWER: Signs point to yes

Philadelphia Phrenzy: Ryan Canes’ Phrenzy enters its second CasPro season after a very good inaugural S94. They have had significant roster turnover as this team is part of Ryan’s dominant organization where players shuttle around based on needs between his teams but with no seeming loss of each team’s ability. This season they have added a lot of very good d480’s, mostly from the Kops and the Chiefs, including most of the top INT and FF guys from CasPro S94. They have also updated their staff with Kurt Davey, drewd21 and Monty Burns now running the offense/defense/S Teams, respectively. Will they continue to succeed with Team Chemistry being an issue early in the season and their d480’s decline later in the season? MAGIC 8 BALL ANSWER: Yes, definitely

Metal Militia: SHINKANSEN’s Militia finished a strong regular season at 12-4 beating both the Chiefs and Shoreline twice and the Kops once in their only regular season meeting. Unfortunately for them Shoreline got their revenge in the playoffs, eliminating Militia in the first round. They are returning all players in this, their 4th CasPro season, having finished 11-5 or 12-4 in those last 3 regular seasons. Is this the year they make a deeper playoff run? MAGIC 8 BALL ANSWER: It is decidedly so

River City Ransom: macaw and his all passing Ransom will begin their second season in CasPro after a solid first season. While only finishing 6-10 they beat the Grizzlies in the regular season, only lost to Shoreline by 3 and led the league in passing yards. As almost all of their team is returning team Chemistry will not be an issue. Their improvement will hinge on cutting down on their number of INT’s on offense and improving their scoring against Defense. Will they make these adjustments? MAGIC 8 BALL ANSWER: Outlook uncertain

Chaos On The Farm: This second McMunson/JS Avens/MadRocker all passing team also finished 6-10 with their biggest win being versus the Chiefs in S94. They have had to do some rebuilding of lost players but team Chemistry should be in the upper 80’s by seasons start. Being an all passing team they finished near the top in passing yards but also were at the top in INT’s. Improving this INT issue and improving their scoring defense will be their 2 keys to S95. Will this happen in their 3rd CasPro season? MAGIC 8 BALL ANSWER: Cannot predict now

Arctic Smurfin’ Wolfpack: This team, run by the Kansas husband/wife Jayhawk/Wildcat duo, has been around forever and is moving up to CasPro after a very successful climb up the ladder. At one time they had a 100 game winning streak and were only beaten by Texas Tech and The Las Vegas Stunners one time each during those 3 teams climb together up to CasPro. They are an all run team that also has a very strong Special Teams unit. Arditi Italia was the last all run team to win CasPro in S88. Will the Smurfin’ Wolfpack be able to continue their success in CasPro? MAGIC 8 BALL ANSWER: You may rely on it

Ghost Creek Cowboys: Despite finishing 6-10 last season Jandrews Ghost Creek had a better season than their record shows. They beat Granite Peak once and lost 5 games by 3 points or less. They return their entire d320 lineup and could show considerable improvement with their d320’s in their 2nd CasPro season. Will the Cowboys be a big surprise to the upside team in S95? MAGIC 8 BALL ANSWER: Signs point to yes

Nassau Nightmare: Jandrews also owns this team which despite finishing 5-11 also had a better season than their record indicates. They beat the Kops and also lost 5 games by 3 points or less. Will their experienced d400 roster move into the playoff mix? MAGIC 8 BALL ANSWER: Reply hazy, try again later

Hattgenstein Volunteers: Jayadamo’s Vols are another team that is very dangerous. Wins against the Chiefs and Granite Peak highlighted their 7-9 season and they also lost 5 games by 6 points or less. Will their mostly d440 players owned by many solid dot building agents have 1 more run in them? MAGIC 8 BALL ANSWER: Outlook good

Jayadamo: Thank you for being here Monty and for helping improve the News. I enjoyed your segment and hope to have you back again.

Segment 3: Predictions for season 95

After nailing the prediction last season I am tempted to predict the Vols to win it all but decided I don't want to go from best prediction to worst in just one season!

West finish

1. Metal Militia
2. Shoreline Big Gulp Kickers
3. Philadelphia Phrenzy
4. Charlestown Chiefs
5. Arctic Smurfin' Wolfpack
6. Hattgenstein Volunteers

East finish

1. Steel City Kops
2. Ghost Creek Cowboys
3. Granite Peak Grizzlies
4. River City Ransom
5. Nassau Nightmare
6. Chaos on the Farm

West winner:
Shoreline Big Gulp Kickers: Lost 2 straight title games. Will this be the year they win the big one?

East Winner:
Ghost Creek Cowboys: Hard to bet against SCK 2 seasons in a row but I have a feeling JAndrews is out for blood and he is going to get it.

S95 Casual Pro Champions:

Great read as usual Jay.

Goodluck to everyone this season. West still seems to be the better of 2 conferences but only time will tell.
