Dragon League Pro Preview

Alpha Division
Not much change here. The Program, House Party and Nebraska did not make any off season changes and are all at 100% chemistry. CPU NH Piranhas should provide a couple of easy Ws for each team in a highly competitive division.
The Program are currently king of the hill after going 14-0 and winning the s60 Championship in an epic battle with rival Grape Apes and they also brought home their second Ladder Trophy. It will not be easy for The Program to repeat but coach/owner agerm73 and his team love the challenge.

Beta Division
The Grape Apes and Day Shift Strippers share the division with a couple of CPU teams. The Strippers look like a collaboration between Gadz and smashrock and look much improved adding some S*s at the expense of team chemistry. As a result, I expect to see more wins from them. Unfortunately, I believe that the are still a little bit behind and will struggle to make the playoffs.
Same old Apes. Will their lack of depth cost them a second championship or will their S* consistency bring home Championship Trophy #3?

Gamma Division
Another “lite” division. BABBs will defend their division title from SRDM4M and hope to not only make it to the Championship game but have people talking about a team other than The Program or the Apes. It will be interesting to watch this team as BABBs has been competitive with very few S*s. Smashrock literally blew this team up and now has 11 S*s, 8 low contracts and some chemistry issues possibly.
With the implosion of MV Snow Leopards, SRDM4M were able to address their depth issues and cap issues with some of DallasCowboyFan’s quality players. The result will most likely be some chemistry issues but coach/owner Agerm73 and GM QuadL like what they have and are confident that it will bring more wins and they hope to compete to make it into the playoffs. Do not sleep on this team, they possess upset potential.

Playoffs? Playoffs!? Are you talking about playoffs!? Heck we got to first win over .500 and then look to unseat BABBs since the Wild Card is certainly coming out of Alpha! Playoffs!...
(flips over conference table and storms out)
...
(whisper) So, how did I do Agerm? I can get that raise right?

That was a great game to watch. I think on another day, Nebraska would have handed us an opening day loss. Your team was fun to watch.

Biff Barf here! Soaking up all the news and barfing it back at you! Along with my colleague Spaceman Spiff. Say hi to the nice folks Spiff.

- Hi, everyo -Click-

The first phase of divisional rivalry games are over! So before we get down and dirty with INTER-DIVISIONAL FOOTBALL let's see how things stand!

- That wasn't very nice Biff.

Less is more Spiff, less is more.

- Let's get straight to the action!

Alpha Division
1 The Program 3-0-0
2 House Party 2-1-0
3 Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001 1-2-0
4 New Hampshire Piranhas CPU 0-3-0
House Party shucks the Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001, 31-13.
Not sure what the CornHustlers were thinking but a screen pass is NOT a running play! They went to the well once too often and found themselves all wet.
New Hampshire Piranhas became small fish in the The Program belly as they lose at home, 0-55.
The Program begin the season in first place again with a perfect 3-0-0. That's quite a feat in what is arguably the toughest division.

Beta Division
1 Grape Apes House of Slombo 3-0-0
2 Day Shift Strippers 2-1-0
3 Atlanta Cheetahs CPU 1-2-0
4 Oklahoma City Bears CPU 0-3-0
Oklahoma City Bears Get used as throw rugs by the Grape Apes House of Slombo, 0-83.
Atlanta Cheetahs are stuck up a pole by the Day Shift Strippers, 6-42.
Purple Primates are picking up where they left off last season going a perfect 3-0 while holding off the only real challenge in Day Shift Strippers who are revamped and renamed.

Gamma Division
1 Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money 2-1-0
2 Bay Area's Best Builds 2-1-0
3 Reno Pack CPU 1-2-0
4 Santa Fe Express CPU 1-2-0
Bay Area's Best Builds beat black and blue the Santa Fe Express, 40-7.
Reno Pack get packed in a pine box by the Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money, 0-79.
Who will come out of this unscathed? No one! BABBs lose to SRDM4M in what could have been a wake up call had SRDM4M not punted the pooch in the season opener and lost to a CPU team... A BLOODY CPU TEAM! This one looks like it'll come down to the wire.

Biff Barf here! Soaking up all the news and barfing it back at you! With my trusted Colleague, Spaceman Spiff we're bring it!

-Alpha went door to door this week and came by with Ws as mementos for the traveling. Grape Apes House of Slombo win the GOTW, and SRDM4M is in rarified territory as the lead Gamma for the first time.

Let's get straight to the action!

Alpha Division
1 The Program 4-0-0
2 House Party 3-1-0
3 Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001 2-2-0
4 New Hampshire Piranhas CPU 0-4-0
Oklahoma City (Teddy) Bears get kicked around like unwanted toys by the Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001, 0-51.
- HB Cory Ross gained 233 yards on the ground and another 165.5 on a perfect 33 of 33 receiving broke 14 tackles and made 5 TDs (2 rushing , 3 receiving) as Nebraska rolled to an easy victory.
Day Shift Strippers have the House Party at their place and get got, 13-20.
- The Strippers started well, leading at the half 6-3, but it was House Party who finished the game with 17 unanswered points before the Day Shift could respond with a too little too late TD. QB Ezra Rice's pass to WR2 Xamot Paoli for a 45 yard touchdown came with only 1:11 left to play and with HB Rough Draft v3.0 running for 4.8 yards a carry and a total of 164 yards on the day... this one was over.
Reno Pack pretty much are pounded pink by The Program, 7-80.
-Nothing to see here at this murderization of da bums. HB Darnell Jefferson won GOMVP honors as his stat line was, RushTD: 5, RecTD: 3, RushYd: 191, & RecYd: 105.DE Rass Pusher GDMVP win was off an awe inspiring line of Sack: 6, Hry: 10, PD: 1, & TFL: 1. Had QB Joe Kane not tried to run 6 times their day would have been impeccable as he also threw for an amazballs 466.5 yards & 6 TDs!

Beta Division
1 Grape Apes House of Slombo 4-0-0
2 Day Shift Strippers 2-2-0
3 Atlanta Cheetahs CPU 1-3-0
4 Oklahoma City Bears CPU 0-4-0
Grape Apes House of Slombo shut out the Bay Area's Best Builds at home, 45-0.
Had the Day shift and House game not been between two second place teams it would have been the GOTW. Instead we got this blow out, shut out that was just, out. BABBs, with their chemistry still in chaos and not able to handle the heavy rain that pored through the House of Slombo field, came out stumbling and bumbling. The Purple Primates for their part jumped on their hapless foes early and did not relent. HB Slombo #5 had a banner day! His 4 Rush TDs, and 293 Rush Yds came with a powerful 52 Broken Tackles. Some of those came from the 106 Rec Yds he added as 130 came as YAC and he topped that off with a RecTD. The GDMVP, DT Gorilla Grodd had 3 FFum, 4.5 Sacks, a TFL and a Hry.

Gamma Division
1 Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money 3-1-0
2 Bay Area's Best Builds 2-2-0
3 Santa Fe Express CPU 2-2-0
4 Reno Pack CPU 1-3-0
Santa Fe Express put in a claim as the best CPU team after beating New Hampshire Piranhas, 6-0.
Atlanta Cheetahs are hobbled at home by the Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money, 6-35.
- HB Shadow Natas exploded onto the OMVP race with 4 Rush TDs and won GOMVP honors. While QB Rich "Loose" Gannon added 340 yards passing and a TD to the mix he also threw 2 picks so, yeah that. At least SRDM4M lead the Division for now.

Welcome to all you Ladies, Gents, and all the ships at sea! Biff Barf here! Soaking up all the news and barfing it back at you!

- Wait, what?!

Don't sweat it Spiff, just trying it out, you know see how it fits...

- It don't. Just. Don't, please. Bad enough you keep using your last name like that...

What was that?

- Alpha has the old follow the leader line up going 1, 2, 3, irrelevant. Meanwhile the Purple Primates plug along in Beta.

Ah yes, Alpha showed it's dominance over Gamma leaving only a CPU to win there! What in the world!? You just know that can't last long.

Alpha Division
1 The Program 5-0-0
2 House Party 4-1-0
3 Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001 3-2-0
4 New Hampshire Piranhas CPU 0-5-0
Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money fall short of a full square dance as Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001 allaman right, 20-27.
Bay Area's Best Builds play it tough throughout, except one drive and that's all House Party needed to win, 0-7.
Oklahoma City Bears get skinned again. This time it's The Program, 7-51.

Beta Division
1 Grape Apes House of Slombo 5-0-0
2 Day Shift Strippers 3-2-0
3 Atlanta Cheetahs CPU 1-4-0
4 Oklahoma City Bears CPU 0-5-0
Day Shift Strippers cut bait with the New Hampshire Piranhas, winning, 19-0.
Grape Apes House of Slombo leave the Reno Pack by the curbside with the recyclables, 83-7.

Gamma Division
1 Santa Fe Express CPU 3-2-0
2 Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money 3-2-0
3 Bay Area's Best Builds 2-3-0
4 Reno Pack CPU 1-4-0
Atlanta Cheetahs can only watch in horror as the Santa Fe Express take over Gamma with win, 7-10.
- and that despite a -3 turnover ratio against the Express!

Biff Barf here! Soaking up all the news and barfing it back at you! Tonight's forecast, DARK! Continued mostly dark until the morning when scattered sunlight will dawn on us. OK, so Alpha continues it's dominance by beating up a bunch of cpu pansies, Beta's to monkeys follow suit, and Gamma gets it's wheelhouse in order by not losing!
Let's get straight to the action!

Alpha Division
1 The Program 6-0-0
2 House Party 5-1-0
3 Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001 4-2-0
4 New Hampshire Piranhas CPU 0-6-0
Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001 run rough shod over the Santa Fe Express and add a near perfect passing day to boot, 32-6.
House Party bring the Reno Pack the pain, 72-0.
The Program demoralize the Atlanta Cheetahs, 65-3.
All three victories were against CPU opponents and all three were blow outs. Combine scores of 169-9. Oh the humanity!

Beta Division
1 Grape Apes House of Slombo 6-0-0
2 Day Shift Strippers 3-3-0
3 Atlanta Cheetahs CPU 1-5-0
4 Oklahoma City Bears CPU 0-6-0
New Hampshire Piranhas lose to the Grape Apes House of Slombo, 0-58.
Nothing to see here, just the usual Purple Primates using a CPU team like Samsonite luggage in a 70's commercial...

Gamma Division
1 Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money 4-2-0
2 Bay Area's Best Builds 3-3-0
3 Santa Fe Express CPU 3-3-0
4 Reno Pack CPU 1-5-0
Bay Area's Best Builds bash bloody the Oklahoma City Bears, 26-3.
BABBs bust black & blue bumps all over another hapless CPU squad.
Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money upset the Day Shift Strippers, 30-24.
THIS should have been the game of the week. Day Shift jumped out to the early lead and then right after half time SRDM4M exploded into the lead only to see the Strippers respond with a 4th quarter rally to tie and send it into OVERTIME! There the Mercs stopped the Strippers' momentum and first drive to drive down for their own score, not settling for letting a FG decide fate!

It's time for DRAAAGON Football! I'm Biff barf, soaking up all the news and barfing it back at you! With my co-host Spaceman Spiff.

- We're at the halfway point to the entire 61st season, Midway! Tora tora tora!

Keep Calm and carry on! If you are leading in your division that is, otherwise... PANIC!

- Alpha is still the roughest, toughest, rootin'est, tootin'est, meanest, greenest, division-est... in the league!

Uh, yeah right, you been drinking Spiff? It's not like you.

- Oh, I finished off that coffee you left on the table since I was in a hurry and didn't have mine ordered in time!

(Aw crap!) Quick call the stadium Doc, and tell'm to bring my... the stomach pump! Just sit here and count the window smudges from the last game...

- look at the pretty flowers...

OK, so, um, yeah Beta is weird as only a cpu team could win and Gamma sees the two real teams of note start to pull away but not from each other.

- it's Build eat dog eat dog eat Merc in Gamma! Hehehe

Just hush and let the sump pump do it's thing.

- Let's get straight to the action!

Alpha Division
1 The Program 8-0-0
2 House Party 7-1-0
3 Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001 5-3-0
4 New Hampshire Piranhas CPU 0-8-0
Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001 walloped the Reno Pack, 59-7.
A cpu beat down.
House Party stopped the Santa Fe Express dead in their tracks, 60-3.
Another cpu beat down.
The Program shocked Grape Apes House of Slombo relentlessly to a 52-20 blowout.
GOTW! Never trailing and pulling away in the second half, The Program won and TE Rob Gronkowski put on a clinic to the tune of 17 receptions for 263 yards and two touchdowns. HB Darnell Jefferson added ground support with 120.5 yards rushing on 28 carries and three TDs. Grape Apes for their part tried to do it mostly on the ground and failed to launch despite a better yards per carry average due to 41.2% passing throughout, that allowed The Program to control possession and win the turnover battle by one.

Beta Division
1 Grape Apes House of Slombo 7-1-0
2 Day Shift Strippers 4-4-0
3 Atlanta Cheetahs CPU 2-6-0
4 Oklahoma City Bears CPU 1-7-0
New Hampshire Piranhas are ganked at home by the Atlanta Cheetahs, 3-6.
A cpu beat down BY a cpu that's usually beat down.

Gamma Division
1 Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money 5-3-0
2 Bay Area's Best Builds 5-3-0
3 Santa Fe Express CPU 3-5-0
4 Reno Pack CPU 1-7-0
Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money tease then toss Oklahoma City Bears out with the trash, 27-3.
Yet one more cpu beat down!
Bay Area's Best Builds take it to the Day Shift Strippers, 17-6.
BABBs countered Day Shift's defensive mindset with solid running by HB Hassan Haskins and crisp ball control passing to the TEs as the Strippers started well but eventually were figured out by the BABBs game planning.

- Spaceman Spiff here taking in all the news and giving it to you fast, furious, and funny! With Biff Barf as my side kick this week, since what he made me go though last time...
The Program (10-0-0) and Grape Apes House of Slombo (9-1-0) seem to already have their tickets punched for the season after party. As for House Party (8-2-0) they lead the pack for the coveted Wild Card golden ticket. Gamma? Well, that's a big toss up between their only two teams that matter.
- Let's go!
Let's get straight to the action!

Alpha Division
1 The Program 10-0-0
2 House Party 8-2-0
3 Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001 6-4-0
4 New Hampshire Piranhas CPU 1-9-0
Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001 defeat Atlanta Cheetahs, 43-0.
- Cornhuskers ride roughshod over the hapless Cheetahs as HB Cory Ross' 342.5 yards rushing, 217.5 coming after contact, 2 RushTDs, and 114 RecYds do the deed.
The Program win at home over Bay Area's Best Builds, 52-17.
- This could've been the GOTW but The Program were up 28-3 at half. By the time BABBs tried to comeback they just couldn't muster enough in the 3rd to make it over that mountain and gave up the ghost in the 4th.

Beta Division
1 Grape Apes House of Slombo 9-1-0
2 Day Shift Strippers 6-4-0
3 Atlanta Cheetahs CPU 2-8-0
4 Oklahoma City Bears CPU 2-8-0
House Party lose large to Grape Apes House of Slombo, 24-52.
- The Purple Primates used a relentless D and grinding O to take this one at the second quarter of each half. Four House turnovers and 12 sacks of QB Shivakamini Somakandarkram were just too much to overcome. Meanwhile HB Slombo #5 ran over the Party's Defense like they weren't even there.
Reno Pack get home game beat down by Oklahoma City Bears, 0-16.
Santa Fe Express catch a beating as Day Shift Strippers win, 3-62.
- Santa Fe completely gave up on the run game as Day Shift swept them away with a well balanced attack. QB Ezra Rice passed for 3 TDs and ran for 2 more while CB Lucas Blye led an opportunistic Stripper defense with an INT for TD and a PD, overall they had 5 turnovers taken.

Gamma Division
1 Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money 6-4-0
2 Bay Area's Best Builds 6-4-0
3 Santa Fe Express CPU 3-7-0
4 Reno Pack CPU 1-9-0
New Hampshire Piranhas nearly pull off the upset but still lose to Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money, 6-13.
- HB Rania Quiceran rushed for 112 yards as SRDM4M pulled even in the division but overall it was an ugly win that required CB Flex Jackson's Int to seal the deal for the Gamma co-leaders.

Biff Barf here! Soaking up all the news and barfing it back at you! The dragon league song and dance has just about come to an end. We had hopes for something unexpected but here we are with the usual suspects vying for the coveted trophy. How did we get here?
Let's get straight to the action!
Alpha Division
As they always do, The Program defeated every challenger, until they didn't. Still, one loss does not end this dynasty since it was in the regular season. House (MD) Party was sitting pretty in the Wild Card race for a Minute. Then a funny thing happened on the way to the play-offs and Nebraska is hot on their heels, as is Day Shift Strippers, and primed for the match-up.
1 The Program 12-1-0
2 House Party 9-4-0*
3 Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001 9-4-0*
4 New Hampshire Piranhas CPU 1-12-0
New Hampshire Piranhas get battered and fried by Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001, 3-45.
HB Cory Ross' 300 rushing yards with 2 ground TDs and an aerial TD catch would have been enough but, DE Stephon Kaiser added 3.5, a FFum and 3 hurries to seal the deal.
House Party is cancelled early as The Program win, 17-30.
Two solid teams, but one found a way to run while the other... did not. HB Darnell Jefferson scored 3 Rush TDs and ran for 186 yards to HP's 33 total team yards. Both team's aerial attacks were a wash statistically as each stout defense showed up until House Party's got worn down in the second half.

If not for their own failure the purple primates would be the new home field advantage kings. The Day Shift Strippers' upset of The Program was a solid done for them but as we said, they failed epic in their one chance... For their part Day Shift Strippers have a shot at the Wild Card since they'll be tied for that when they face the Purple Primates this week! Could be the game of the week unless Nebraska's hoe down with The Program takes it.
Beta Division
1 Grape Apes House of Slombo 12-1-0
2 Day Shift Strippers 9-4-0*
3 Oklahoma City Bears CPU 3-10-0
4 Atlanta Cheetahs CPU 2-11-0
Atlanta Cheetahs are forcibly declawed by Grape Apes House of Slombo, 0-70.
As expected, a CPU beat down of Kong like proportions.
Oklahoma City Bears are given rug burns by Day Shift Strippers, 0-55.
Looks like the DSS charged the Bears by the garment including accessories, then added a bunch of lapel pins...

Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money tried to make a run after they started with a loss to CPU then inexplicably beat BABBs in their first face-off. But it all came down to this and every team, player, agent, and CPU dot knew it. So the usual Gamma rep will go forth and try to beat those purple primates for a shot at the title. For the one agent who cares, Juperos, The Express will win the coveted title of best CPU team if Atlanta can beat the Bears.
Gamma Division
1 Bay Area's Best Builds 8-5-0
2 Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money 7-6-0
3 Santa Fe Express CPU 4-9-0
4 Reno Pack CPU 2-11-0
Reno Pack get packed and shipped by the Santa Fe Express, 3-21.
Whatever.
Bay Area's Best Builds defeat the Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money, 26-18.
It may sound like an 8 point close game, but BABBs never trailed and were up by 10 by the end of the third and extended it with two FGs before some late game 2 minute drill heroics made it seem a little closer.

Underlined team wins their Division. Asterisk* team has Wild Card shot.
