Add to the game an option to build Pro Dots. Maybe with GLB's own VPB with an option to purchase when completed.

Idea is great. Implementing it is not. The easy part would be XP and TP's. Simple since those numbers are static to every dot. The problem comes with Multi-training and BT's. Those are NOT static, but fluid... and HIGHLY important to the end results of each build. Where and when you spend BT's.. when and how you do Multi-training... varies not only with each person and their own style (or build guide, of which there are several) but with each DOT. While I have my own style even I can't perfectly make every dot end 100% exactly the same from start to finish. Training boosts.. differences in what each OC or DC wants the finished product to be... changes in team anytime during the dot's career... all effect the outcome of each build. Trying to program that into the code would be a freakin nightmare.

You are thinking of like an instant dot. But using the VPB, or something very similar, to manually build it step by step would include those things. Build it and then when you get done pay for the finished product. Make it cost more than normal building would be okay with me.

So you're thinking would be to simply allow a new built dot to be able to reach level (pro) on day #1 for a bit of extra fee? I would think, to avoid it being badly abused, a limitation similar to the current 'FreeDot' would have to be in order otherwise we could end up with hundreds of high level QB's in a blink. So number of 'instant dots' would have to be limited... and a major re-write to the 'available players' when building (meaning what you can and can't use freedots for based on number of dots, at that position, in the game). It would have to be written so that each level of play (team/dot levels) is separate unto itself. Since, technically, if you introduce the ability to build dots in that way you COULD stop that dot's growth at anytime in the process, depending on why you're building and for what level it's wanted/needed. That could cause issues if, at certain levels, there's an abundance of dots at that position.
Mind you... I (and others) think the whole freedot limitations (on what positions are unavailable when using freedot) is 100% totally wrong. It should have never included any dots over rookie (1st two seasons) since dots older than 2 seasons have no bearing on rookie team's needs and those dots will age out before the new ones anyways so there's always a turnover. Makes no sense that a level 79 dot counts against the making of a new dot, IMHO.
All that said, this WOULD work better than just Instant dots and also would make it easier for coding... but still coding and much work would need be done to make it work... just to install the new 'instant build' system. And I'm just not sure of how much heart Bort and company have to dig back in, write new code, install it, test it, fix bugs, ect, ect, ect. As good an idea it might be, it really depends on that.

It's funny people make threads like this still...especially seasoned vets. Every season it seems like there's a thread about this. You'd think people would finally take the hint after 8 years of nothing being done.

Wellllllllllllllll... TBPH, there's always an outside shot at this happening but, as I said, it's really gonna take two things to happen and one of them isn't good.

#1 is that Bort and company really want to undertake another major game changing re-write and dive into another long and tedious coding and testing sessions. That's the part I think is likely the big holdup and probably the major reason it won't happen.

#2, and more ominous would be, that Bort sees the end is near and is trying to milk this ol' game along for as long as it can run. That (i believe) would be the reason why he chooses to do #1.

This would be huge for the out of network owners who get all the way to Pro just to have a few important dots go inactive or decide to leave for greaner grass. It would allow us peons to possibly replace them and allow us to continue to compete for a chance to play with the blue chips.

And then suddenly all lower leagues will be inactive, Kangaroos will compete in a CPU league (actually this is nice) and Bort will lose money. But we can discuss it just to have something to discuss.
