The SA part is in the middle. When talking about D-line SAs, Blitz is listed as an option. Not sure if that's helpful or not.

I think you are right. I probably got them mixed up, but very surprised you don't' see widespread usage of "blitz" on D-lineman if it works.

I'd guess... because it was decided long ago that it sucked, and it just became meta. There's probably a huge difference between "working as intended" and actually working for your dot.

Ahh yea I mixed them up. My bad. I just remember pumping first step and giggling every time my guy would just leap past oline men. I miss AC’s blitzing DAI.

Is it worth getting as an extra SA or is there something better for helping with pass rush. (Consider that some of the previously mentioned SA's like Tunnel Vision are already on the SA tree.)

The other take-away I got from all that reading was just how psychotically powerful AOI is and why Confidence might be underrated and why 'morale spirals' happen. As powerful as it is, maybe everybody should have it on every single dot. Hell... I have it on one of my Punters!

Bort - Doesn't mean the player can't get the morale back from performing well, or his team scoring, etc. Aura can also be resisted with sufficient confidence.

Will multiple players with AOI each have an effect every time AOI "fired off" or "ticks" an opposite team member within range, or will just the highest AOI take effect ? What stat or stats effect using AOI and resisting AOI ? AOI does work for offensive players, right ?
Bort - Cumulative, applied when it processes each player who has the AOI. Confidence to resist, the level of the skill to power it. AOI works for everybody.


Going against dots with little or no confidence, it's psychotically powerful. Once the opposing Confidence hits X amount it's worthless.

There's the rub though, ain't it? I mean QB's, Kickers, and Punters are likely the ONLY dots built with very high confidence in mind as part of the build. Many dots just get it to 40 for OTK because other skills are far more important. I can't imagine building a 105 strength, 100 agility, 80+ speed, 90+ blocking for an O-lineman and still hit 80+ confidence and 50-60 stamina and vision. So AOI still looks overly scary if a whole damn team had it. Especially since Bort said it's Cumulative when it's multiple players with it.

the issue is, how much of an effect does it really have?

have had WL games where the DL ends with morale in the 50's and 60's and still only allowed 3 points the entire 2nd half while playing heavy run AOI/Pummel teams

100% this ^^^^ over all things. I think that's why Confidence got such a bad rap for so many seasons back in the day. I can remember plenty of (old) posts about confidence being the most useless skill. There are things we can see... both on replays and in the way a dot preforms on the field... that tell us just how good or bad something works or just how much of an impact a high or low skill has on the quality of play. Then there are things we can't see at all but DO have an effect. It's simply we can't quantify that effect worth a crap so we're left guessing... and sometimes that's bad.
