Forum > Goal Line Blitz > Random players to weaken the team?

Hi guys!

I am kind of new to the game and my player is in the Rookie-Prep D-League.
So our team is well ranked but our roster recently had two weird roster moves (owner is CPU).

One guy (beta supporter) created a new player (his only one, even if having two players is free) that joined my team at WR. He played two games, took a few targets away from better players and then left the team and is currently a free agent.

Then just after this one leaves, another player joins our roster (also the only player of this agent), this time as a FB.

Is someone doing this on purpose so our team gets weaker? I think it's kind of suspect.
Their names are very random too (but not the random you would name your player after).

Thanks for your help

One of the biggest weaknesses of the "build-a-player" model is what to do when people join or come back in the middle of a season. People often build throwaway players for the remainder of the season. some times, they even keep those players for many seasons. Some people practice a new build strategy during these times, which requires that you be on a team in order to train.

I see! Thanks for the answer!

Still very annoying though..
Our new guy just had 5 negative yardage plays and 1 no-gain play. So we lost an important game against a weaker opponent..

Not trying to be a cheeky monkey here but that's normal for any person playing their players on CPU teams. It's a great place to stash a player you cannot find a home for (usually due to having too many players already at that position... such as QB or RB) until someone needs/wants them but winning and losing is totally out of your control. Also how often and where you play as well. I've had a PHB on a CPU team that they put in at Returner only.
As Monkey boy pointed out as well, if you build players in the middle of the season then CPU teams are likely the ONLY place you can play. Most teams have their rosters full when the player building time happens... which is between day 40 and day 48 for regular leagues and day 40 at end of season until preseason day -1 of the next season when making Peewee players.
Generally speaking, Peewee is a different style of building we like to call '1-and-done'. 99.9% of players built for the Peewee leagues are recycled at the end of the season because Peewee teams cannot advance beyond the Peewee leagues. Also because the dots (players) don't generally make good regular league players due to how they're built differently.
2 things you can do at this time (which is short for the remainder of this season);
#1 is look about and find a team/owner/organization you think you would like to build players for (also many are very good and helpful with any questions and how to get the most out of your builds)... then send a PM to the appropriate people there and let them know you would like to build players for them.
#2 is take the rest of this season to learn what does what and some of the in's and out's of dot building. It's now when you can make any rookie mistakes (like putting SP's into SA's or spreading your SP's all around different skills at the begining) and it costs nothing. At end of season you can recycle with minimal or no Flex lost and start from scratch... hopefully with a REAL owned team and better players.

Thank you for you help!
I now see the downsides of PeeWee leagues.
I will try to improve my dot building, thanks

You could open your builds to all to get guidance.

Keep in mind, there's a difference between "Rookie" and "Pee Wee." A BIG difference. Don't use those terms interchangeably.

Rookie League is the lowest rung on the ladder, a league for dots who are less than 40 days old that are intended to be played with until they hit 480 days old and enter Decline. Dots built for Rookie are usually built to be around for a while.

Pee Wee League is a separate side challenge. All dots in Pee Wee are less than 40 days old also, but they're built just to exist for one season. Some guys don't like the 480-day grind of building a long-term dot, so they build Pee Wee dots, play with them for a single season, then retire them and start over next season. Building a proper 480-day dot requires sacrificing early performance and planning in advance to get a better dot in the end, but if you're just building for Pee Wee, you don't have to make those early sacrifices and can just built a dot that's good right away. Just keep in mind, if you try to take a Pee Wee dot beyond Pee Wee, he'll start playing worse and worse compared to his normally-built cohorts.

So yeah. Rookie and Pee Wee, two separate things. Don't get 'em mixed up.

Another thing to remember is that human team owners are much more likely to use a player based on their build. CPU teams will frequently use a player incorrectly, especially the D leagues, when there are no human teams at all. D leagues should be avoided at all costs these days, as there are plenty of CPU teams at every level and at least you'll get to play against some real players.

Also players who sign for D league teams, and then the agent goes inactive get cut after so many days of agent inactivity (I forget how many ).
