Description: This QB can read the defensive coverage pre-snap and audible out of a bad look. The Audible SA could possibly work in a few different ways.

The QB could simply audible from run to pass, or pass to run depending on the defensive formation.

The QB's 'Play Knowledge' vs certain plays combined with Pass Awareness or Pass Consistency could power the SA. The QB's pre snap coverage read could be based on # of linemen and/or linebackers / DBs.

The Audible SA would be unique vs other Signature Abilities because acquiring "Audible" would add a tab called "Audibles" to that QB's player page. Said tab might have a variety of tactics for audibles or this could be added to Offensive Tactics.

It may be powered by Pass Awareness(?), Pass Consistency(?), and Play Knowledge(?) combined with the QB's pre-snap defensive coverage read roll outcome.

I've had a similar request in the past. 'Audible' SA where your player gets to change the play in game.

If the keyed play is seen do X (where X is a play picked by the OC or QB).

At bronze have it only select gold play knowl
Silver can have silver or under
Gold can include bronze play knowl.

Could potentially increase number of plays held for audible too.

I think it should be added as an SA for linebackers too.

I could see the SA being awesome and also have so many bugs in it

Honestly doesn't seem like it needs a reason.

It's basically asking for a whole different tactics page with triggers (based on what?) that is only available to QBs that take a specific SA.

It's a bit absurd if you give it any more than a casual thought.

Well, it was actually calling for a chance to switch to another play in your playbook from the same formation based upon DB count essentially. If your offense had more big men in, a chance to change to a run from the same formation. If you had more receivers out there than his DBs, chance to change to pass from that same formation.


But, it's also a bit crazy and hard to do, and could potentially ruin gameplans specifically meant to counter that play, like if someone chose to pitch outside against middle overload when a defense is leaning on it too much - and the QB checks out to a playaction pass....


Just a lot of potential to ruin games on top of the potential to just outright blow up any defensive planning if the QB can just check out of a middle overload when he sees he's got a run up the gut against it.



So yeah, should never ever happen, you're right. Not unless you wanted to try and make it some passion project that would take forever to balance and work in.

It’s legitimately a cool idea, but it’s a huge undertaking with how game plans work in the game.
