Filter the Defensive Playbook by Tags instead of Formations.

Have:
Pass Short
Pass Medium
Pass Long
Inside Run
Outside Run

and have a 5 play minimum for each playbook.

That is good idea.

Would definitely help prevent error in input.

How about giving us an option for a play to be tagged as Run (inside/out) and pass (short/med), (long/med), (any) - so the play can be used with the different tags when needed. It kinda sucks to not have the option to use the same man to man plays across different distances without lumping them all into short.

Filtering by Formations is important.

But having 5 plays per formation and adding a tooltip to ensure Short/Med/Long Pass (whilst fading out run options) and 2 runs (whilst fading out the 3 pass distances) will help avoid confusion.

The playbook cannot be saved until there are 5 conditions met: At least 1 per s/m/l pass and at least 1 in/out run

This won't matter. It would be better to have a "check AI" button in tactics and go through all of your inputs with an example of what could come up.
