I think I remember reading a thread saying Cover Expert is actually a detriment. If the increase in speed overrides the benefits to Quickness, Footwork, and Cover Tech then shouldn't that be a bug that needs to be fixed?

Here's my CB not even trying to cover the WR. Instead, it's like he's trying to race him to the end zone:

The CB has 95 Man Aware, 88 Cover Tech and yet he doesn't even react to the ball being thrown until the WR catches it.

Yep, same problem as Closing Speed.

Speed kills, and even without those 2 SAs I've seen plenty of high-sprinting players overrun plays due to a failure to control their speed.

Mayby U just use it wrong - this skill is to catch up - not to be fast just overall - I would not use it for cover players - But it is just making a good zone D.

I agree with this - his CB is already much faster than the average CB and it's too much investment in top speed - but at the same time, I don't fault him for thinking the SA would improve his CB's coverage ability. I know it's a video game and all, but being hurt by increases in mobility is not very intuitive.

usually overruns aren't failure to control speed but more likely too high an aggressive setting on pursuit with too low of investments into balance/footwork/pursuit to react to a change in direction quickly.
