*Two Back Trips (3 WRs 1 FB 1HB)

*Bunch Strong (3 WR 1 TE 1HB) - Deployed with 3 WR's in a "Gruden Bunch" with the WR2 up on the line , WRs1 and 3 "in the slot" a couple yards to either side , the TE on the weakside of the formation

*Pro Gun (3 WRs 1HB 1WFB) - QB Back in the Gun , HB and WFB deployed in line to either side of the QB , 3 WR's (2 to 1 side , 1 on the other)

*H-Back Express (2 WRs 1TE 1FB 1HB) - 2 WR's on the weakside, a TE up on the line directly back and to the right of the TE the FB with the HB lined up behind the QB

I want Flexbone (2 HBs 1FB 2 WRs)- The 2 HBs are wings, a WR split on each side, FB lined up behind the QB.

Would be cool if the HB went in motion prior to the snap.

I’ve been asking for an option since day 1.

Agreed but the flexbone is iconic to the option. However the option takes a lot of work to code accurately plus I imagine would actually require new QB mechanics/stats.

These could be added and would provide some diversity to the playbook without a need to code in a whole new module for the option which would require massive testing.

I dont think it would take new stats, Carrying awareness would be needed for the QB to read the LB. Leadership could be what sells the fake handoff even more. And Pursuit would be needed for the LB that is getting read to effectively read the play. Maybe diving could use a buff to tackle from further away in case the LB read fails and tries to tackle from afar to make up for it.

Nonetheless, it may take a lot of coding to get it done successfully.

the perfect play for an option they may be easier to code is SB TRIPS qb run to open side it already looks like an option play with the way the play runs sometimes its a thought but i know it will never happen

if they could incorporate a "pass" into the run that may work and have toughness and carry awareness trigger it

It's a metric ton - well to do it without a hack in a way that works reliably and meaningfully. Granted Bort's probably one of the most experienced developers on the planet in football games given how long he's been at it so maybe he's got insight to actually solve it - but I used to use this as a question with college graduates after they thought the interview was over (at least those who had a concept of what it is).

The problem isn't the offense, well that's difficult - but it's the defense. The defense can't be perfect it has to be variable but it also has to now recognize (triple option) at least two potential ball recipients who don't yet have the ball and are not currently blocking anyone and recognize that one of those options (the outside) is the most dangerous and that the ball can be pitched/handed off at any time until that person has passed the QB horizontally - and - move with anticipation before finally closing.
