Zeta seems fairly decided after only 2 weeks: Dawg House 5th, Thrown Together 6th. That being said, neither is the complete cupcake that WL seems to produce one of every season. Of course, that status is just a Top-12 WL criteria.

Alpha looks a bit different as everyone but Lousiville seems capable of making the playoffs, thereby not facing Natty demotion. TPSAI is likely to be demoted, but a combination of just enough talent, plus excellent coordinating keeps them in the playoff conversation.

After 2 weeks, the odds on favorite for the Bort Bowl is OPT vs either SWAT or Florida...week 3 will set the early barometer in Alpha in particular.

At the 1/4 mark, the season has produced essentially no surprises. The unique ownership dominance in WL this year promised for a different type of WL season. So far, this has proved to be the case. Mauler and Ryan own 7 of the 12 WL teams and you had to figure their top teams would be the teams to beat.

At the quarter turn, SWAT, OPT, BiA, and Florida are the cream. Miami, TPSAI, and STEEL make up the 2nd level. 3rd tier C-TOWN is the anomaly here; They are a team that can potentially make a run to perhaps the top rung, just not at this point. Nomad and Thrown are in the next tier. Next up, DAWG House seems capable of some upsets. Unfortunately for them, Louisville is likely 0-16.

In the end, can SWAT get started on the toes, they've already filled up both hands...

With Zeta going 5-1 in the first week of inter-conference games, you might want to rethink the tiers. Are TPSAI and STEEL that good or is Alpha that bad?

At the mid-way point, little has changed from the 1/4 turn with one exception: Nomad. My old friend M is up to his usual; squeezing all the roster talent and translating that to results on the field.

All the Tier 1 and 2 teams are holding form other than Miami. If Tom decides to focus, watch out for the Red Hawks in the 2nd half of the season.

What's up with C-Town? Are they perhaps re-tooling? Has interest in the game taken a Sabbatical? I still would hold my breath when playing them, as they have 3 WL titles in the last 7 seasons!!! They know how to kick it into 'Boss" mode.

Thrown Together is an interesting team. They are dangerous with the Air Raid offense they run. However the 3-and-outs that happen with that type of O make it tough at times, to maintain 4 full quarters.

EDIT: At this stage, SWAT, Florida, OPT, BiA, and TPSAI (the longshot of this group) are still the teams to beat. The Mauler and Ryan26 battle is the safest bet. All the smart money is on one of these two, with Mauler paying the lowest odds as SWAT seeks to start filling toes.

My thoughts are similar to yours. My surprise team is Thrown Together. After they lost their first game of the season by 56 points, I expected that they would struggle to win 2 games in the season. Instead, they have fought back and won 2 of their last three games and are in a hunt for a playoff spot.

C-Town is one of those teams, like Nomads, that are always hanging around the periphery and can jump up and bite any team. I am never surprised when they win a game and never surprised when they lose one.

So this is where things stand after the intra-league games, 6 in all;

Take Louisville out of the mix as they came from a lame Canadian Nat-Pro League last season. E is a quality owner and has had some legit teams in the past, unfortunately this is not one of them. The 'Ville's best showing is a double-digit loss to The Dawg House, not exactly the stuff legends are made of.

Alpha gets the nod convincingly in the regular season crossovers, with a 19-11 record. Toss in the sub-par Card clan and it still stands 19-17 but that is just fluff. 19-11 spells it out.

Here we go as teams fight for spots, and jockey for seeds down the home stretch of conference action...

The season is coming out of the final turn and headed into the home stretch...

Ditto analysis from the midway point: "At this stage, SWAT, Florida, OPT, BiA, and TPSAI (the longshot of this group) are still the teams to beat."

Not sure what happened in week 12 but SWAT DESTROYED a very good Florida 52-3. Also notable was Nomad's big win over Miami. Alpha's top 3 look locked in and the two in Zeta are going to stay 1-2.

Final playoff spot and the ability to stay in The Show are going to be interesting in both conferences. Zeta #4 will have a losing record but still survive, whereas Alpha could be .500 and demote. The winner of week 13 SCM vs C-Town will be huge! SCM won the 1st matchup and can all but lock up the 4th spot with a win.
