Oh boy.
ALPHA DIVISION
Hawaii Bulls - #2 dynasty in vet over the past few seasons, but even more importantly than that, a master of the rookie meta (we aren't predicting Vet here, after all). Two seasons ago he piloted a rookie team comprised mostly of CPU, unboosted, and frequently even inactive players to a 29-1 record, winning both the league championship and the ladder. Furthermore, he never changed his playbook once in the entire season, running pretty much the exact same 5 plays on offense and defense and winning every game regardless. Considering this time it's not an experimental alt team but his actual main team, I consider him the frontrunner to win the rookie ladder and the league.
Miamisburg Cobras - an enigma to me. I've never had an interaction with any of their players or coaches so I have absolutely no expectations besides the fact that they were a massively dominant team at vet. Hopefully they provide as much competition to the Bulls in rookie as they did in vet, where they beat them last season. Definitely another team capable of winning the ship, but Hawaii is still my favorite.
1980s NCAA Legends of the Gridiron - in any other season and in any other league, his team is an obvious playoff contender. In his first season back after a long hiatus he managed to beat 3/4 of the teams that did make the playoffs, losing only by 2 to the lone playoff team that he didn't beat. With a full season of improvements under his belt, this team should be much better than the last, especially since dual threat QBs are OP in early tiers. Unfortunately, he has what seems to be the hardest division I think I'll ever see in rookie... which is to say, it's not that he can't win it all, just that it would honestly be an accomplishment to even win at all.
Hades Tenured Professors - well, william78's teams won both #1 and #2 place in sophomore ladder last season, playing each other for the championship in a triple overtime thriller. He also won the rookie ship two seasons ago, and only lost by 3 in last season's rookie playoffs to the eventual title winner. The man is an excellent rookie baller and this new and improved Hades probably has the best shot of taking the ladder and the ship from Hawaii. Unless his other team does it first (he has 2).
BETA DIVISION
Kentucky Mountaineers - the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. However, this is bantamweight, and as Myrik himself has acknowledged, rookie is not where his team shines. That doesn't mean he won't win the ship, just that he isn't the betting favorite - reason being, his vet team succeeds, in my opinion, largely due to an extremely well supported and effective elusive HB, enormous turnover rate on defense, and massive morale advantages, all of which he will be playing without in rookie. Still, it's Myrik, so...
Nebraska Cornhuskers - another tier 1 coaching staff on another successful team, with S* in the best positions to make an impact in rookie (QB, HB, TE, LB). Then again, Viper doesn't give two shits about the meta and there's a good chance we see him with crazy builds just because he feels like it. A very high ceiling and capable of a ship (he's won plenty), but too unpredictable to really say more.
Birmingham Blast - another enigma to me. I don't know much about mickersd, but he ran a good pro team that beat the .500 teams and only lost to the very best, and this roster is stacked with depth and high contracts - something far more important than S* in rookie, especially in the early weeks. He'll have to perform better than he has in the past to win a division of this caliber, but the potential is there.
Davis Empire Tigers - For an agent in only his second season of GLB2 you definitely could not have asked for a better league to learn from. I'm a big fan of YungVot's attitude and he'll get there eventually, but this season is probably too early to expect anything.
GAMMA DIVISION
Olympus Brood - terrible team, 0-30. You probably think this is some kind of self deprecation or deflection, but I assure you, I'm being serious.
Rome Centurions - I don't know anything about Zoey, but the team seems to have done ok in sophomore last season. A high salary for a S* QB is a massive deal in rookie, especially when paired with a high salary S* WR, but outside of that I don't know enough to make a prediction.
Sons of Alderran Rebel Scum - another william78 and co. powerhouse (previously the Atlantis Golden Hoplites). Features a baby Yoda, and never loses hope. Should be fairly obvious this team is destined. Which, to be fair, is kinda boring and takes the suspense away, but it makes predictions easy. Defeats the Hawaii Bulls 1-0 in the championship game by scoring an extra point but missing the touchdown.
Intimidation Factor - another mastermind, iRock unsurprisingly won the ship with his main team, but it was in my opinion his B team that stole the show. With a roster of unboosted players at 0 chemistry (he bought the team halfway into the season), he managed to win nearly every game he played against a top team - Assisted Living, Hades Tenured Professors, Jarvis Street Coffee Squirrels, Holy Guacamole, and the Brooklyn Brontosauruses. Has probably an equal chance with the Rebel Scum to win the division, though we know who wins in the end.
Good luck, and may the meta spam be with you.
