So I decided to build a MLB and the build is going well so far, but I was wondering how much Snap Reaction would be appropriate by the time you reach end build. I am at 31 right now and it still takes a half second for my MLB to get the memo after the ball is snapped. Not really a blitzer, but would having qa better get off work with First step to get sacks?

31 isn't much snap reaction. At 31, you're still very much at the mercy of randomness. You need like 80 snap reaction to get consistently good snap reactions.

I wouldn't invest too much into snap reaction unless you want to become a blitzing specialist. There are too many other things to spend SPs on. Many LBs don't invest anything into snap reaction.

I would say focus more on mobility, things like sprinting, quickness and balance. That will help you become a better all around defender as well as giving you some blitzing utility. Conditioning is also super important.

As an MLB you won't get many sacks, and I wouldn't try to build around it. Think of it as a bonus when it happens. SAs like Closing Speed, Brick Wall, and Shed Block are your top SAs.

Yep, I definitely have all those things going for my MLB. He tries to blitz every once in a while, but most of the time he is taking away the middle passes and spying the QB until First step (2*) kicks in when the QB tries to tuck and run. I have had a few games with double digit tackles, but most games it seems like the CPU is keeping the ball away from him. I have enough speed and quickness to catch RBs of my level from behind, but that won't last in later levels when everyone has their speed set for the skilled positions. Another thing to look at is Hold Ground. Got tired of seeing my player get caked by linemen so I put 35 in Hold ground. Its just enough to keep my guy on his feet for a chance to shed the block.

There are several ways to build a good MLB in this game... a balanced approach, a pass defender for the middle, a fast guy to make tackles all over, a fumble generator, etc etc. What you need to think of is which type you make for the defense's scheme. I always build my entire defenses with a strategy in mind, the players compliment each other as well as are built for the plays I like to run.

My first LB is a max Awareness build. He's meaty at 249 but slow so I cap boosted sprinting and am at 60 right now. Might have to go a bit more as he is hanging in there, but it is getting interesting as these HBs get quicker. The Awareness is huge. I have 86 pursuit, and am up to 48 on blitz awareness. The guy can't stand still and acts like he wants to be everywhere the ball is. Beats most HBs on end arounds for TFLs because he avoids jumping into the blockers and goes around them. The thing I don't get is the dude is getting INTs and I have nothing at all vested in pass defense. the journey continues.

numbers game, always a numbers game if you do any table top gaming you'll learn sometimes the dice just get hot. Per haps its 2D6 and you need to roll an 11 or 12 to get the pick. It can be done, heck play enough monopoly and you see a lot of double 6's or a 5 and 6. I dont think anything is a 0 percent possibility in this game so you just have the luck of RNG sometimes.

All run stopping LBs should have max pursuit (at least 85).
