Catching 70+ (closer to 80 the better) and 2 INT Chance % AEQ

Something like this:

For 3 AEQ

Strength: 30+
Speed: 158+
Agility: 90+
Jumping: 50-60
Stamina: 60+
Vision: 90+
Catching: 70+
Tackling: 60+

SAs
Sticky Hands
Superior Vision

VAs
Soft Hands
David vs Goliath/Sure Tackler
Track Star/Quick/Football Genius
3rd Down Stopper

Make Tackle chance: +15%
Avoid fake chance: +15%
Intercept chance: +21%

I just build a WR style and try to remember I need a little tackling somehow. SA's might differ a bit. Always wondered if 5% Make Catch gear might help an INT build or not. Might replace MT with that or even get it as 4th AEQ. Dunno.

It only helps if you get a chance to intercept, which then would be lesser as you've sacrificed the chance to intercept by focusing on the chance to catch (which happens after the chance to intercept has rolled). Capisce?

I agree with this, but would prefer 4AEQ. LB's HAVE to be able to tackle too. I would rather sacrifice a point or two in speed/agility to get 21% MT. in my experiences, the difference between 158 speed/90 agility and 156 speed/89 agility is negligible, but that extra 6-7.5% make tackle is huge. If done right, you can always make up that extra +3 speed on the 4th AEQ.

Ah! That's why I never saw an INT build with it.

I've had many INT's over the past couple seasons with my players but only recall 1 or 2 that ever had any kind of return. I understand there to be a "catch roll" you must pass in order to return immediately, as opposed to falling down if failed. From other recalled applications, Catch chance % is not really helpful for a DB however, would catch chance % AEQ, help in this roll; allowing for an immediate return attempt and a pick 6?

A: No, it's just a straight up catching skill roll.

I seem to remember one of the much early Q&As, Bort saying the only time catch % would be of use to a defender is on a ball deflected by someone else, trying to catch the bounce. But couldn't find the link on that one, but still I'd never put catch % on a DB, stacking a second Int % or better yet, more catching and not being a pure liability tackling would be my preference, YMMV.

I tried looking for that quote also.

The gist is, that if the ball is neither intercepted nor caught, there is a chance the ball can be caught by anyone near it before it hits the ground.

Everyone always says they'd rather do something else with the slot, so no one ever tries it. It could be amazing for all we know.

Maybe catch% + Diving Catch could be the next great cookie cutter.
