So, let's say WR has First Strike go off, and the dot wins the roll against the CB. The description says the player's balance cannot be lowered.

But what if that WR runs past a LB whose Rough Cover goes off--whose spec knocks nearby WRs off balance? Would First Strike make a player immune to it?

I would assume yes.

The First Strike balance immunity only works for the duration of First Strike, which is only 0.8 seconds.

Rough Cover will work after that 0.8 second window.

Has anyone actually used Rough Cover with success?

With Swat Down now, why would anyone build for Rough Cover?

They might not be building for it, they might just already have high intimidation from another SA. GE's trash talk linebackers, for example.

I use both on a couple of my CBs. But they're power CBs

This is going to sound like a stupid question, but how do power CB builds differ from the meta? Just more power tackling and intimidation?

If so, where are the points for these pulled from?

I would assume the meta is high sprinting. Power CB would have higher power tackle and Hold Ground and tackle grip.....lower sprinting.

You pretty much need to go either high speed or high strength. I would always put 10 in agility.

You pull the points from Sprint/Quickness mostly. The idea was to cause more KLs, but honestly doesn't happen as often as I like. Works good at tackling powerbacks. But not so much with speed backs. https://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/334935

Even the S* CB on my Vet team doesn't have crazy high physicals, he's uber high skill. https://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/334857

High Sprint on a DB doesn't seem worth it since the passing nerf killed route separation. 60 is plenty

High footwork and balance, though?

Both are important, but I really only go high with balance. Many others live by high footwork though.

Yeah....balance is cheap and needs to be high. I like high footwork on my CBs...much higher than speed.

I tend to run balanced CBs with my zone, jack of all trades types.

So, hypothetically, a CB could possibly carve out a niche by combining First Strike AND Rough Cover, for the constant harassment to both morale and balance?
