First off, I'm wondering about the components that go into what I can only term "quality" rolls on passes, kicks, and punts. I know these mechanics are kind of complex and situational and probably are affected by a lot of different things, but I'm trying to seek out things others may have overlooked or underappreciated in the min/max meta.

Toughness v. Intimidation

A while back, I remember someone telling me that QB toughness played a role in counteracting pressure from pass-rushers (probably as measured by hurries), beyond just the description from the Trash Talk ability. In fact, the way I had it described to me kind of made it sound like the description from Passing Consistency. Even for as dominant as pass-rushers have been though (whether d-line or 90+ sprint LBs off the edge), the QB meta just didn't seem to care about making toughness a big part of QB builds. Why?

If it's true that toughness really does play this role with QBs, does anyone know if the same mechanic might apply for kickers and punters?

Balance

I know the value of balance has also taken more precedence lately too, and I've seen it mentioned in threads about passes made while on the move where On the Run doesn't go off. It would make sense that if this is true for QBs, it would make sense that the same might be true for kickers and/or punters in the sim. But is it?

Supposedly balance helps throw the ball further. I haven't seen anyone say that balance does anything with kicking. I've tried with and without and get the same results.

I think kicking may be too scripted, not sure as it's hard to get good data on kickers.

Most certainly helps with QBs when they move and have to try and stay poised. lost balance is lost quality on the pass.

QBs:

Don't need Balance.

Don't really need Toughness either anymore since Trash Talk isn't taken that often when other SAs are available for LBs. For a Balanced O, you can avoid it.

We're not in an all-pass meta and even if we were I wouldn't take Balance on my QB. Would max Toughness though, mostly to help against fumbles on sacks.

Balance is important for rushing or Shed Sack QBs. Not critical for pocket passers
