does the special ability "shutdown coverage" only work for CB's as in the description, or does it work for safeties as well?

Works for safeties as well, as long as they are in man-to-man coverage

yea, it's just kind of weird.... in the free safety SA tree, it says it gives the FS the boost...
but when you select it as a SS during player creation it says it gives the CB a boost..

I hadn't noticed that. The phrasings sometimes are misleading too. It takes a good memory.
I was looking at Go To Guy VA the other day and can't remember if it works for HB or TE if he's the only one on the field with it.

Is it better than superior vision?

my memory is shot.

i remember there use to be a page with all borts questions and answers but i couldn't find that either.

the wordings do get confusing, sort of a guessing game at times

SV is mentioned many times by Bort that it helps to avoid fakes. I don't know if it's better than shutdown coverage but I do think it's undervalued by many.

Bort: You said once before Super Vision was the most overrated SA in your opinion. Why did you say this? By it's description, it says it reduces being faked... and being pump faked is one of the most devastating things that can happen on defense.
Bort- A lot of people used to think it made them into vision gods, like they had over 9000 vision or something. That's not what it does. I agree it's a good skill, but it's not going to "fix" your guy with 40 vision.

Hey Guys. Read AOI sometime then realize it works for every dot instead of how it's worded and that almost all teams have you get it for your O-linemen at the very least. Hell... I stuck it on my punter. Why not?
