If building an INT style cover CB I would say yes. Just realize you can only get 4 AEQ and a little boost from CEQ so the pure question becomes is a 5% make catch piece better than a 5% make Int piece? There I would say no. Add to that the need for at least one piece of AF AEQ and 1 piece of MT AEQ and that doesn't leave a lot of 'free room' for a make Catch piece. Just food for thought.

go with the + INT% chance - it is far better

thanks. do you recommend it for all man cover cb's? or just one's that are trying to specialize in getting interceptions? I mostly want to build them into being good at pass defense first..the int's would be a bonus?

IMO... A large part of pass defense is the 'fear factor'

You want to make it so that opposing coordinators won't even call certain plays, and make them pay for it if they do.

Basic pass defense is really easy to build into a CB. It's not hard to tack on a little panache to your build. INTs are the easiest way to do that. Just add some Catching attribute.

As far as AEQ goes, you get up to 4 slots, and most builders would recommend sticking with 3. It's generally easier and produces slightly higher attributes.

When you look at it from that perspective, it's hard to squeeze in a Catch% piece. Teams will have their own priorities for gear, but I would suggest Anti-Fake %, Make Tackle %, and then Deflection% or INT % as the 3rd.

The other thing is the attribute. 99.99% of the time, you're going to need a +3 Speed. There are fringe cases like running out of BTs or something, or some oddly specific type of build.

the intercept roll for a defender comes before the catch roll for a receiver

for a 3 AE dot, plus the bonus CE, any "coverage" DB should have

2 INT%
1 MT%
1 AF%

for equipment
