the ST MVP in Natl Minor Eastern Conference makes no sense
https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/league.pl?league_id=38&conference_id=76

in the 'top' spot: https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/player.pl?player_id=4759917&playoffs=0&stat_type=adjusted
but wait: https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/player.pl?player_id=4759078&playoffs=0&stat_type=adjusted

Now I've seen some instances where it seems a bit wonky what stats the algorithm favors, but this is something else entirely. I linked to the 'blowout adjusted' stats, since that is what the MVP rankings seem to use, but the unabridged stats are just as one-sided. What is crazy is that Cheetara who has the much better stats but is now 2nd had been first all season, until a game where she had 5 more return TDs and was somehow jumped by the player who had no TDs and very little yardage that game. I'm wondering if it went funny due to the recent issues. I just can't make any sense of it, and meanwhile every game Cheetara pads her statistical advantage but the ranking board seems stuck where it is for ST MVP. Strange.

No MVP complaints are valid, because MVP is so fucked up that very few people care about it anymore, and Bort isn't working on the game anymore. So complaining will accomplish nothing.

What DOES matter is the ST Endorsement, which can go to any player near the top... which includes your dot. So for what actually matter, your dot is in fine shape.

I'm also curious to know if maybe the MVP formula favors big plays that turn the course of a game... a PR TD that turns a 14-10 loss into a 17-14 win is more important -- more "Valuable," and think about what MVP stands for -- than 2 PR TDs that turn a 28-10 win into a 42-10 win. But delving deeper into that would mean having a deeper conversation on this topic with you, and... well... not really interested in that.

Bottom line, your complaint won't have any tangible effect, and you're not complaining about what really matters anyway. Your GLB time would be better spent elsewhere -- as would mine.

What Novus said and this; It really doesn't matter if you're dot is on/at the top of the rankings or not. As long as it's in the top 5 (best bet is top 3) it's a lottery for the MVP gear. And further, TBPH, I'm willing to bet that being #1 hasn't garnered that spot a better chance at the gear... in fact I'd even say there's a decent chance it's not the position that's had the highest winning % of MVP gear over the seasons.

Lol, a lot of butt hurt ppl with nothing better to do commenting on this lol. If you think its a waste of your time, GO AWAY. I didn't ask your opinion and I don't really care.

I'm speaking up for a player on my team who is getting the shaft. THAT'S WHAT GOOD COACHES DO- duh. Duh, duh, duh, fucking duh. I DON'T EXPECT THIS TO BE 'FIXED' AS I MADE OBVIOUS WITH THE TITLE OF THE THREAD AS EVERYONE ALREADY KNOWS THEY ARE DONE 'FIXING' GLB. I'm just pointing out for anyone who cares about FOOTBALL that Cheetara is having the MVP season and getting hosed on the vote, which is obviously no body's fault beside the algorithm, but honestly I've never seen the algorithm SO BROKEN and I just thought that itself was interesting. Seriously, it seems like there's a lot of butt hurt crybabies here who are apparently salty that they have no MVP worthy dots. LOL. Its not even my dot; I just stick up for my players and damn Cheetara is having an MVP season and should be acknowledged. For what its worth, my player is crushing the MVP ratings ins pite of the fact that I have NO IDEA how to build a DE. It goes to show its a crap shoot.

But damn, obviously no one who is complaining bothered to look at the stats. I've never seen an MVP voting so broken. I'm just trying to figure out what it could be possibly seeing, but there is nothing there. Somehow it is just wrong to an extent I've never seen happen before. I figured that in itself was interesting, but I guess it takes an advanced mind to contemplate things which many GLB agents seem not to possess.

This post is for ppl interested in facts, not bullshit trump-horning:

One player has 4 TDs on PRs and all in excessive blowout games, the other has 17 and many of these in fairly close games. He also has way more yards, albeit slightly fewer KR yards with a much higher average. So what could be affecting the algorithm to be so off? I've always suspected the top '5 stars' in each game plays a big role, but that doesn't seem to favor the current leader at all, either. Nothing does. What am I missing? Is there some aspect to MVP voting I'm not thinking of? I've looked at everything, even ST tackles. Everything is in favor of Cheetara except KR yards. Is that all that matters? I don't remember it ever being like that before.

as mentioned above....the algorithm COULD take into account how valuable those returns were to the team winning the game vs. just the stats

also, I have noticed that KR yards seems to slant things for ST MVP

it is why when teams spammed things to get MVP's, the built a return unit and nothing else, so there were almost exclusively kick returns and no punt returns

PS - neither of these returners have great builds or will be elite in the long run based on EL and archetype, so I guess the lolminors is the success you are looking for

Complaining about the MVP algorithm stopped being interesting in Season 5.

We're now in Season 83.

You do the math.

been that way since season 1. kr yards has always been over emphasized, while pr tds have been underemphasized. am not even sure that pr yards is included at all
