Game on the line, no TO's, open receivers to tie the game...

what's the logic behind this? What really baffles me is the firing of quick read, ignoring the open guys, then deciding to put it into such a tight window..

Yeah it'd be nice to have the logic for 3rd down apply to a last second passing play, but even madden games tend to fuck this up and CPUs go for underneath passes on last second hail marys and such.

I mean, I think it'd be doable aside from the game already has issues with late game logic even in just kicking field goals and such.

In real life, a checkdown pass is when the quarterback attempts to complete a short, accurate pass to a running back or tight end as a last option when the wide receivers are covered. The term means that the quarterback has "checked down" his list of receivers so I'd assume quick read would not have effected his throw selection.

I’m not a fan of quick read. If you have too much of it it cycles through progressions too quickly and checks down well before your main target breaks into the sweet spot. Neither of the outside guys were open and the read cycled past them. If you had no quick read and had WR1 as the first progression the QB may have locked onto them.

I agree Quick Read by itself might not be a good idea but from my testing i think it is good if you pair it with pass awareness since your player searches for the open man and is more likely to find the open man plus i feel you need passing power as well otherwise even if you read it quickly it does not mean it will get there quickly meaning it will be even more marked once they react and see where the throw is going

Quick Read is fake news. What good is cycling through your receivers before any of them are open? Quick Hitter and Pump Fake for life.

quick read sucks it could be good but it seems to conflict with pass awar in my tests a while ago it would throw it way before rec got open an i like the dump off to rb but it just seems shaky to me if they want to give it a quick fix it should decpiher between man an zone then it would be better

If you have a lot of equal talent receivers and call somewhat random passes it is probably pretty good.

If you are specifically targeting a star receiver you want to lock on as long as possible.

at 50 pass awareness I like it at gold but I’m copping out for six total SA on an inprovisor test.

Might just have to navigate to 60

Hmm, I love quick Read and Pump Fake. I could see how it might hurt 2WR sets if you're targeting one receiver, but for 3WR/4WR/5WR sets, Quick Read is very effective, IMO. Especially zone and blitzes.

Sure, if you have no idea where you want to go with a pass. If that’s the case why even call it?

I'm starting to fall into the camp of Quick read not being as great as it sounds it could be, fwiw

Well not really. You can target a receiver and he still gets the ball if reasonably open. Where Quick Read excels is when the defense has that man covered well. But to each their own I guess.

The problem is I may know he is going to be covered early in the play but by the time he separates the ball has gone elsewhere. You could probably manipulate it if you don't make him the primary. It's not for me but that doesn't mean it no good for others. Many swear by it.
