Just a thought, but... isn't that kinda the problem?

And I see a LOT more people wearing masks now than I saw in June and July, so somebody -- a lot of somebodies -- already have changed their mind on wearing masks... people who weren't wearing them in June but are wearing them in September. Hell, President Trump is one of them. We also know more about the virus now in September than we knew back in April, May, or June. When new information becomes available, people should -- and do -- reconsider the decisions they made before that new information came in.

Normally, I don't bother with trying to change people's minds over the internet. But this... this is kinda important. Some people are dying from this virus, and many many more are living through the virus but suffering long-term heart damage and neurological effects from it. If I fail to change your mind about tax policy, nobody's going to die. If I fail to change your mind about wearing masks, someone around you could suffer permanent health effects or even die.

I think that's worth typing a few words on the internet. I type fast anyway.

And yet the large majority of people keep voting for the same sorts of politicians from the two major parties. We just had a presidential election 4 years ago where the two "main" candidates were #1 and #2 on the all-time list of least-popular presidential candidates... and 95% of the voters still voted for one of those two anyway. FML. SMH.

Everyone loves to complain about how bad "the government" is. Everyone needs to take a good, long, hard look in the mirror and realize one very hard, very simple truth: the person staring back at you in the mirror IS "the government."

The problem isn't the clown sitting in the White House, or in the Speaker's chair, or in the governor's mansion, or in City Hall. The problem is the idiot who helped PUT that clown there by voting for them.

Well as long as we're making wish lists...

There should be 5 candidates. Everyone gets 10 votes instead of 1.

Then you answer 4 questions.

#1 Who do you dislike the most and refuse to vote for? This candidate gets 0 votes.

#2. In your wildest dreams, of these 4 remaining candidates, who would you most like to be the next President? This candidate gets 4 votes.

#3 Of the 3 remaining candidates, who do you like more? This candidate gets 3 votes.

#4 Which of the 2 remaining candidates do you like more? This candidate gets 2 votes. The last candidate gets 1 vote.

Voters would be more engaged and have to weigh their options and possibly vote tactically.

The most polarizing candidates would balance themselves out, with the 4s and 0s.

There would be fewer protest marches, not everyone would get get their top choice, but they could at least take solace in the fact that it wasn't the most hated option.

Then the electoral college should be legally bound to represent all votes. Each states' electors would cast their votes in direct proportion to the amount of votes each candidate received. Do away with the "winner take all" system most states have. This would make it close to impossible to rig an election. End the race to 270.

This would further incentivize voting. Every vote would count towards establishing the proportion of the vote.

Around here the law changed first week of july. Thats what changed where I live.

If we went back to masks being recommended (optional) 95% would not be wearing them anymore.

Not really. Yes there were 1.1 million deaths from TB... WORLD WIDE. In the U.S. there were under 1000 BECAUSE there is a TREATMENT AVAILABLE. TB is the leading cause of death for those with ADVANCED HIV in the U.S. The symptoms and effects of TB are widely know and recognizable.

You should probably avoid spreading conspiracy theories. It makes you look unstable also.

Pro Tip: whenever anyone ties abortion statistics into anything other than a discussion about abortion, your BS meter should peg out.

Religion is the leading cause of death in the history of mankind.

Heart failure is the leading cause of death in the history of mankind.

Where it gets interesting is figuring out the cause of the heart failure.

If differences in religion never existed, the vast majority of people who have died throughout mankind's history would still be dead.
Death rules supreme.

What time frame are you referencing? My grandmother died of Tb in the 50's. My grandfather had it, and eventually died of heart attack..while in the TB sanatorium. My dad had it in the 70's, luckily by that time there was a treatment.
Think about it, there were so many who had it back then that they had special hospitals just for them.

My point is there have been WAY WAY more than 1000 deaths from TB in the U.S.

That nutjob conspiracy video said there were 1.5 million deaths from TB last year (but no one heard about the great TB pandemic)

That figure is technically true, but it's a world wide number. In the U.S. the most recent data I could find said 515 of those were in the U.S. in 2016, compared to a whopping 9000 reported cases.

COVID 19 has over 6 million reported cases in the U.S. with 180k deaths attributed to Covid directly, and indirectly with the complications it causes to those with pre existing conditions.

Your trolling is too obvious now. You need to be more subtle. Can’t figure out who you’re trying to pwn.
