Scheme out your team direction? I remember for a while it was (big guys CIT) while physicals was relatively untouched. These days I’m seeing a lot of speed only just to run play action.
Does anyone actually scheme out the builds or play style of their team and then choose the plays that best suits their players?
Personally this is my first run doing it fully, and the only thing I can say is the defensively it’s so easy to get things done. It’s easy to move pieces around, and it makes the full defensive depth chart formations absolutely imperative.
Offensively I can’t complain much. Yeah there are times when the “wtf is that” feeling is too overwhelming (mostly bc zone is absolutely outlandish and very inconsistent: either big play or turnover/knocked loose immediately) but it’s been great to watch the route running, the space separation, and just noticing how little CIT really means towards a “dominant receiver”. Of course my system is pretty dink n dunk, so it’s great to see “matchup nightmares” not in the form of 6’6 receivers. I feel like I’m actually building a team instead of spamming height (the super little guys just for speed irritates me as well bc i see so manny of them used poorly) all the time.
If there’s anyone who does (hell or is even interested) this please please please comment. The game’s already dead as far as engagement goes, but I’d love to hear from the few who actually traverse the forums. What are your most successful schemes/systems and what have you the inkling that it might work?
