So i did a test this season. I read some where of some one asking about what happens when you set tactics to 0(zero) across the board.

The short/medium/long yards and FG ranges cannot be set to 0, they reset back to default after you update tactics. Only for offense.

But you can set every tactic for each situation to zero. On the Bengals team page, you can look at all league games. Every win during regular season was won using a 0 tactic setting. The 3 losses we suffered in regular season games i had actually planned and had set a specific tactic. Those 3 games were tough and earned by the opponent. But ever win was a ZERO tactic setting. (Yes boogie men that means oir 2nd meeting i didnt plan for and some how won lol)

We did use 2 different play books but used 0 tactics. What i noticed from it is the sim will randomize the rolls for every single catagory, we threw deep on first some times, we also run up the middle on 3rd and 15+. There was no pattern to the calls. The rolls for each play was mainly determined by the priority of the play in the playbook. Anything with a 5* priority would be the most likely chosen play but that didnt mean it would call a 5* priority every time, there were a few times it did call. 1*-2* priority play from the playbook.

That was for offense.

Defense there are more rolls than offense, if you set blitz and zone both to zero tactic then you would never blitz or be in zone it was man entire game. Plus having the random play calling on defense screwed us a few times call 8 man in the box with a 5 wr set play on offense was called. Not very helpful lol so 0 tactic for defense isnt really the way to go.

Agerm bought a sophmore team, filled it, and scrimmaged the bengals a few times trying to game plan against a 0 tactic setting and was having quite a rough time lol.

So im posting this trying to get some discussion and opinions from vets, other agents, maybe even CD if he felt the desire to.

It was me who originally brought this up.

I appreciate you all experimented with this idea, though I was mainly concerned about Def and only using Zone and Blitz %.

It seems with defense your losing out on a lot of play calls being everything at zero. In my opinion you have to have some kinda of defense game plan to be effective. Offense showed an god like response lol but defense not recommended lol

it seems almost like a fail safe. we used it mainly to throw scouting, didnt want people to see our tendencies, but as games play and the season went on it turned into almost a for real game plan lol

i went as far as making a fun acting out post in our team forum, like a play by play if each player and coach were a real person lol, basically i told the team "look things have been going well with what we are doing. i wanted to let every one know that our entire gameplan is to backyard football it. we are letting our QB call the plays on the spot" lol it turned into a really fun post for the team to chime in on, made almost every one laugh. but then it turned into a holy snickeys we are winning everything. the only games we lost were the 3 games i felt important enough to game plan against and they kicked out asses. but 2 of those loses we also beat either earlier or laterin the season using the zero tactic no game plan let the QB call the shots. and we won lol. is very interesting how the sim almost called what was needed to call in order to "work". i mean granite there were situations tht were very questionable, rushing up middle on 3rd and 18, or passing deep on 1st down, but sometimes those random calls worked. a defense on 3rd and 2 calls a 7 man in the box defense as their tactics but our QB calls a 4WR set and the TE burns across the middle for a 16 yard gain lol its incredibly erratic and theres no true pattern to any of it. the only thing i can trully say that WILL happen is the higher priority plays in your play book will be the first in the "rolls" on which play is called. its just position on the field will have ZERO effect on the play called.

I use priorities and I'm only concerned about Blitz rate since I'm currently running zone only. Works for me so far

Im not a very good defense coach so that could have contributed to my terrible results lol
