Just hit Level 25, and was wondering what is the major difference in the beginning level's of VA in either 3rd Down Stopper, or Long Reach?
Wouldn't Long Reach still fire the same on 3rd down? Or does the other fire just a better % chance of a re-roll for deflection?

Apples and oranges.

I'll use this guy https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/player.pl?player_id=4765033

23 targets, 16 PDs

So, apparently this guy has a 70% chance to get a Deflection. 3DS would increase that by a percentage, say 15% with 5 VPs invested. 70% x 1.15 = 80.5% should be his new deflection rate if absolutely everything else remained the same (which is impossible).

What LR does, is for the 30% he didn't deflect originally, he'd might get another shot at a Deflection. Say a 15% chance again with 5 VPs. Basically he'd get his usual 70% deflection chance on 1 out of the 7 he missed.

Only on third downs though. As a DC, I prefer the Long Reach in the earlier days.

Depends on the dot IMO. If a dot sucks at deflections then even a maxed out 45% shot at a do-over isn't really going to help. There's probably a math answer as to when one is better than the other.

It's hard to gauge the value of a 3rd down stop too. In theory a pass attempt means longer yards to go, which means a deflection forces a punt a lot of times.
