Hello everyone.

I've got a S* Guard, who is currently at Sophomore.

My team is rush-first so, up until now, I've focussed on getting him to Gold in Pulling Specialist.

I've now got an opportunity to start investing in a second SA, and wanted to see what the veteran players here would advise.

My instinct, based purely on the SA descriptions, is to narrow it down to:

- Get Low: to take advantage of additional push distance, which presumably supports inside rushes? I wonder if this maybe this creates the opportunity to lose the tackler, and let them circumvent the block?

- Pancake Chef: for obvious reasons.

- First Strike: Sounds interesting as an opportunity to demoralise and de-energise the opposition, as well as presumably tilting the initial blocking interaction in my favour?

What do you think?

It depends on what fit ur build...

If U got good enough run blk tech - go pancake chef.
if not Goal Line blocker?

I'd like to see how First Strike works.

You're on the right track with all of these. Can't really go wrong with the ones you mentioned- its more of just personal preference.

Thanks everyone.

How would you rate Get Low against Pancake Chef?

On the face of it, a pancake seems to be superior to a push, so what's the argument for Get Low? Is it because pushes happen more frequently?

If U got build that is resulting in good lengthy block - get low with enough block power will result in opening additional hole.
If U generally lose in los battles - get low might allow to lose a little bit more downfield.

Pancake chef will work only if U win ur block but it doesn't force U to alter ur build.

It depends In my personal opinion - there are 2 kinds of running games - standard power based - just push. Or fast OL is making short blocks at right times and right places. Both need different SAs and builds.

And yeah get low will fire more frequently than pancake chef. Even if you get a good deal of pancakes I still only see it fire sporadically where get low fires several times a series. Get low is super helpful in creating space for power backs to work with, and can be helpful in creating enough space for elusive to slip by with a wider lane as well. Get low also can’t be completely counteracted at all, there are skills designed to help lessen it, but the skill moves guys with 95 hold ground like they are toys, even when technical blockers use it...

Out of the two, I hate seeing the lineman across from me have get low, pancake chef never bothers me as a DT. It even has a stun it applies to the d-linemen as he’s being driven back and he loses balance at the end (from my experience, dunno if the ability says it does this, but it do) and resolute doesn’t help at all to counteract this, so You’re stuck being stunned in the way back then almost certainly being in a losing blocking situation as your balance is fucked from the other guy pushing you upfield 5 yards.

Really makes breaking away for those diving tackles difficult, which means it is fantastic for what it does.

That's actually a really good point, first step was pretty good in my testing of o-line. The main problem now is that the frequency of it firing has gone down massively from last season.
