Hey all I played this game back in the day and was wondering if it or GLB 2 were still decently active. Did most players move to 2 and the traditionalists stayed here or is 3

GLB2 has its fans... but not many of them. A lot of people tried 2, hated it, and either came back to 1 or left entirely.

However, about 14 seasons ago or so, a new wave of old players slowly started making their way back to GLB1 to see if it was still going or not, and there was a bulge of new teams and players around that time. (I came back myself at the end of Season 68.) That "bubble" died back a bit... until CORONAVIRUS, and all of a sudden a BUNCH of old players who were bored in quarantine all came back to GLB1.

So... while things aren't NEARLY as active as they were back in GLB's golden age, I'd say things are very obviously on an upswing lately... maybe a silver age, if you will.

So, come on in! The water's fine!

I wonder how much of the failure of GLB2 is ever brought up in GLB management gatherings?

Calling one person a gathering seems like a bit of a stretch.

This game reminds me of Star Trek or M*A*S*H*. Hasn't changed since it left BETA... isn't going to change... but we still watch it over and over and over and over....

I believe that DD and Bort are the same organism. Like Dr Jeckel/Mr. Hyde... Or maybe more like Spiderman/Venom.

That way Bort can blame business decisions on DD, and DD can blame tech issues on Bort.

Lol.. that made me laugh harder than I should have.
Gotta give them credit for still having this game up and running. When I left in season 20 I didn't expect it to continue and it has. Hasn't changed much which is kind of comforting. Having a shit ton of flex to come back to after 8ish years was a nice surprise as well.

Bort needs a tournament. Something for the old core of the game to bring them back. Maybe 20 or 30 dots with a team purchase, enough to make it easy to fill a team.

I love the idea of something like that. Can do it during the offseason, which imo would be a great thing

im one of the very very few running both GLB classic and GLB2 lol got 2 teams on GLB2 one working on a title, then ive got multple players on classic. their both fun lol classic is soooooooo much more in depth with playcalling depth charts equipment training points you can only have a limited of GMs on 2 lol classic is for the people with patience to build for the long haul, GLB2 is for the now builds, rookie season in 2 you actually have to spread out your skill points not just spam one stat lol i cannont coach here in classic, theres just way to much time that goes into scouting, GLB2 i use scout and im almost undefeated in my first season ever playcalling lol

I came back mid season last season and was able to fill an entire team so it can be done.
