Seems like this is firing less this season. Anyone else notice this?

I've been testing a fuckton of WR builds and every time I've tried a 35-50 quickness build with silver first step it seems completely useless

I literally tested it last season and implemented it on a DT after promising results, and it's been very disappointing... very low fire rate compared to before.

Probably something unintentionally broke with the massive overhaul start of season.

Theoretically snap reaction shouldn't affect first step firing, it should just fire a tad late.
However, if I had to guess, given that a player's starting balance is effected by their snap reaction roll, first step probably has a threshold where it is unable to fire if the player is considerably off-balance.

That's a good theory. But I'm confused because the ability description for First Step doesn't say anything about balance. Also the skill description for Quickness doesn't mention balance either.

That's why it would have been an unintentional nerf. Ah the life of a coder. Fix one thing and break something else by accident lol

The skill was teetering on the verge of being replaced by other more valuable ones on just about every build, since it's now firing at about 40% of what it used to, it's definitely not making it into any of my builds moving forward as is.

I liked it a lot on receivers
Headfake and Catch in Stride don't really fire enough either to make them particularly valuable

I've been running 3 WR's through pick-up. All of them had catch in stride second. and then their first abilities were head fake, first step, and first strike. Kind of disappointed in the lack of firing. I only watch the replays of their catches, and I hardly see the skills firing for any of these. If they are firing a lot more on the plays they aren't the target of a reception, I chalk it up to not mattering if it fired or not.
