I think it would behoove a dot of mine to hold off on training until he goes up a level so he can cap an attribute before I train it over again. However, that won't happen until day 4 of the regular season and by then my player will have around 30 TP. I remember once hearing the max TP a player can have is 24. Is this true? If so I will need to spend some before I plan to.

During the season it's 30, during the offseason you can go over that. Not sure if there is a limit during the offseason, but on day 1 if you have over 30 you get reset to 30 and lose whatever TPs you have over that

i just created a dot, and it gave me 32 TPs. I'm going to guess, that up to Day 0 you can hold 42. I'd be willing to bet that if you didn't spend them by then, they'd get chopped to 30, and you wouldn't earn any more
All the stores around me seem fully stocked again, so I don't think there are limits any more.
