So, you can't click the Update button at all on the Account Settings page, and there is no Accept button on the Forum Rules page... but you're posting in the Forums, which means at some point you DID accept the Forum Rules, which would explain why you don't have an Accept button anymore on the Forum Rules page. That button goes away once you accept the rules, and you can't post in the forums until you accept the rules.

My conclusion: this has nothing to do with accepting the forum rules. So let's set that aside.

So... for the non-functioning Update button on the Account Settings page... that reeeeeeeaaaaaaally sounds like a browser issue, maybe a pop-up blocker or a security setting that just doesn't like that button for some stupid reason. I know you've tried accepting the Forum Rules on a different computer, but have you tried pulling up your Account Settings page on another computer? Ideally, a computer you didn't set up yourself? If you try it on 3 different computers but they're all yours, you might have the same security settings on all 3 and would have the same problem on all 3. So, a public library computer or a friend's computer would be ideal.

You might be right. I will test my mothers computer and another fiends computer to see if I can get lucky enough to finallize my signup and get the update buttom to work. Thanks for the help for now.

My son has an old Mighty Brawlers account, but he never tried GLB. I'll try playing around with his account and see if I can re-create your issue.

Okay, so I used my son's log-in credentials from Mighty Brawlers to log in to GLB. Back when he was briefly playing Mighty Brawlers, I didn't really want him going on the forums, so I never confirmed an e-mail address for his account, and I never accepted the forum rules at the time. So I figured that would make the account ideal for testing this issue.

Here's what I just tried: after logging into GLB with my son's account, I went to the Account Settings page and clicked on the button to have a confirmation e-mail sent to the e-mail address on that account, one of my old spare spam-catcher accounts on Hotmail. I logged into that old Hotmail account, clicked the link in the confirmation e-mail, and confirmed my son's account. I also went to the Forum Rules page and accepted the forum rules, and now my son's account can see the forums.

Here's where it gets weird: I went back to the Account Settings page -- just like with Hoppeborg -- it says the account hasn't been confirmed yet, even though it has been. Just to see what would happen, I re-sent the notification e-mail, clicked on the new link, and again confirmed my son's account... but the Account Settings page still says my son's account is not confirmed.

I also tried to update the Replay style from Flash to 20 Frames/Sec, but when I click on Update at the bottom, nothing happens -- just like with Hoppeborg. BUT IT GETS WEIRDER. If I click over from the Account Options sub-tab to the Forum Options sub-tab, enter a new signature there, and click Update, THE UPDATE BUTTON WORKS. But it only updates whatever I changed on the Forum Options sub-tab.

AND NOW IT GETS EVEN WEIRDER. I logged out of my son's account and logged back in as myself, then went to the Account Settings page to change my Replay style, clicked Update... AND IT WORKS.

So, when I'm signed in on my account, the Update button works. But when I'm signed in on my son's account, the Update button doesn't work. Same computer, same browser, same browser settings and plug-ins, just different logins. If I log-in as myself, everything's fine. If I log-in as my son, shit breaks.

THAT TORPEDOES THE "BROWSER ISSUE" THEORY. Something has gone pear-shaped with account verification, and whatever it is, it appears to be interfering with the proper functioning of the Account Settings page somehow.

Thank you Novus for testing things out and notice the issue from my point of view. It may an issue taking into support for the third time. I do hope that digitaldaggers will take my post more serious than the previous 2 times. Thanks.

You would do well to include a link to this forum so he can see more than just your report and know it seems to be a bug issue rather than a personal one.
