I've seen someone take multiple steps then get knocked loose, but never on an interception.

That's unfortunate. At least you were already stomping, and got the ball back right after.

I remember a 60+ yard run after catch where the receiver fumbled but it was called knocked loose. Probably cost the defending team the game, and it was the playoffs. Very old bug.

I would hate for this to happen again in the playoffs
