Which of the skills does balance actually influence?

We know it influences pancakes and reverse pancakes for linemen but what for the other positions?

Does it help with a QB throwing the ball, receiver catching, breaking tackles, defense making tackles?

I've found it very necessary for all DBs to have 55+ Balance in order to avoid falling over during pursuit, and I believe it's only slightly less important for the receivers themselves.

I've been curious if it helps with making tackles. Never seen it written anywhere.

I'm absolutely sure it improves tackling quality, moreso against speedy and elusive types as they throw you off-balance more with cuts and such. Dives and jumps are effected by balance, so diving tackle quality has to have it play in a decent amount.

What it probably won't help as much against is when you get leveled by a powerback. I imagine it has to have some role in the 'being dragged' situation, could be completely wrong about that though.

Maybe CD will be kind enough to elaborate more on that part, I don't recall him mentioning it with tackling outside of the balance checks before diving tackles and after making a change of direction.

Balance helps prevent you from slowing down or falling flat on your face from any kind of quick turn or sharp movement.

Look at any player with the Surefooted skill. Balance is involved any time the skill fires, and it fires a lot for anyone that regularly has room to run.

Surefooted is almost a requirement for any HB, WR, and DB.

I'll say that balance with a lower case b factors into, if not completely forms the base of, most hitting interactions.

So if tackling is considered a hitting interaction- it is safe to say that balance helps with making successful tackles.
