GLB2 stole far too many agents away... splitting up the user base badly and leaving both games with not enough players. Now it's so divided in loyalties between the two games that if they closed down either one to solve the problem, they'd lose even MORE players. Thom's problem is he bought a CPU team because it was in a weak league filled with CPU teams and, therefore, the team he bought was likely going to make the playoffs... as a CPU team. Once you buy the team though, you get the huge 'Human Owned Team Filled With CPU Dots' penalty and now everything is sucking. He mistakenly thinks adding coaches will solve the problem but can't find anyone to coach. We've told him why that is. He's not interested in that explanation.

More people = more dots & more coaches. More dots & coaches = more (human owned) teams. More (human owned) teams = more fun.

If GLB wanted to do something different to attract new players, I would suggest giving away a bit of starting flex as a sign up bonus incentive. Why? Right now you CAN play for free... you CAN sign up for free... but you quickly learn that if you want to really COMPETE then you need to buy/spend flex to enhance your dots or build your teams. That feels like a 'sucker's trap' where you're lured in with the promise of 'FREE' only to find real fun costs $. GLB has already given us free dots... that's nice and all that... but if they want NEW players to come in, check things out, have some fun, and get addicted to this crazy game, then give the newbies a reason to stay long enough to become addicted as we are to this thing. And, before anyone says anything, NO... it shouldn't be made retroactive for all of us already here. It's for new players only to get new players to join up so ALL OF US can have more fun.

Imo the issue isn't flex, it's cost. If dots were cheaper, I'd have more. I just have my 4 free players, and a couple of 100 flex dots.

Not to mention none of that has anything to do with this thread. There doesn't need to be any penalty for CPU dots any more. There's an organic penalty because generic CPU dots will never beat well made human dots.

There's not enough human players to meet the demands of the existing teams, so just get rid of that dumb penalty.

If someone wanted to get really wild and crazy, they'd open up "Coordinator Only" leagues where there are only CPU players and coaches could learn the ropes.

None of any of this makes a lick of difference because WG just doesn't GaF about this game. We're just suckers handing over more money for basically nothing

F'ng thanks for the help auto correct

people have been begging for a cheaper game since the beginning and he's never going to change it. i think all the free players over the years was his way to make it cheaper. if there's no cpu penalty, then there's no reason for us to build offensive linemen of some of the other lesser built positions. teams get 5 cpus that get little to no penalty already. even having 9 would probably be ok these days with the number of poorly run teams

This was always the canned response, and it's not true.

Kickers and punters maybe, because a lot of teams already use CPU dots there. So and penalty is meaningless anyway.

It's fairly easy to build DEs to run around CPU OTs, so any team worth the time would want human built OTs.

Having a dominant inside running game, like the Sim is currently built for, wouldn't be possible with CPU lineman going against human DTs.

It's still an arms race. You'd need human built dots to take on teams that built human dots. As long as there are championships to be won, someone will build all human teams.

What I'm saying is that it's redundant and stupid to have an additional overarching penalty for having too many CPU dots.

There's no reason to force those soul crushing 0-255 losses.

Because bad teams cry when they lose to CPU teams

Or because 0-100 is bad enough?

is that a pro or a con?

only for the WL teams and farms. there arent enough players left for that to matter any where else. you could probably take 2nd or 3rd in every pro league now with a cpu offensive line and some actually game planning. would win at least half the reg pro leagues. for the average schoe w/o any WL connections, there's zero reason already to build offensive linemen because the chance to play WL is so slim.

I've seen some pretty solid teams this season in casual lose to CPU teams. 3 to be exact, all 3 have ties in Cas Pro.

i've seen a lot more of that too the past few seasons. awhile back one of our mostly human teams beat a cpu by over 100, then in week 16, lost using the same AIs, only to win in week 1 of the playoffs by another blowout. the RNG has never been very random and with the fewer number of games, I'm guessing that we are just seeing more crappy RNG games hitting human vs cpu games, whereas before they would get buried in normal games and not be that noticeable.

I understand you are just being a troll but you actually make a really good point. This game was the tits for the guys that have been here since the beginning and were spoonfed the changes, but it's also part of it's undoing. I couldnt imagine coming into the game now and learning about building, AIs, tactics, equip etc....It would take a lot of legwork.

i always wondered how many people quit w/i their 1st or 2nd season once they learned how much they had to learn. wasnt that the whole point of the deuce, to make it more intuitive?

Ehhhhhh... not so much but what I felt is that it's more like what you would get if Casual and Regular leagues had a baby and the baby turned out to be autistic.
