Hey everyone. Fairly new player here. I was just wondering how important quickness is for O-Line players. I understand that decent sprinting would be helpful, particularly for run blocking and lead blocking Gs and OTs, but would O-Lineman change direction often enough for investment in quickness to be worthwhile?

Quickness is also acceleration not just changing direction.

Yes, by the time they reach Vet, they should have around 40 Quickness to be effective.

Run blocking (going FORWARD) you want Quickness.

Pass blocking (going BACKWARD/SIDEWAYS) you want Footwork.

For all positions.

This is universal.

I've seen o-lines with varying levels of quickness be very effective, but the biggest determinant is offensive scheme and playcalling--and other blocking stats.

For my money, though, 35-45 is the "happy" window: the greater percentage of plays going to the outside, the more you should lean toward 45 (AND, don't forget, this additional quickness should usually accompany a little more balance as well).
