This one had the makings of a real slobber knocker as the two best regular season records went head to head for the second time this season in the one game for all the marbles and chicken dinners.
In the home corner you had the 26-2-0, Alpha division winning, 2nd Globally, 2nd in tier, Reigning World Champion and 2nd in Dynasty Vegas Bombs. Led by OMVP winning HB Power Back and #1 rated (114.8 rating) QB Heart of A Champion. These Bombers were looking for payback. You see they lost the first meeting in an embarrassing way and were bound and determined not to let that happen again. General Manager Rob. was quoted as saying "Hey, I get paid extra for this right?"
Meanwhile back at the visiting locker room The Gamma Division winning, 26-2-0, currently 1st in all that Vegas was second in, and who had not tasted first in anything since season 33 of the Indigo League Mid-West Anarchy were fighting off the rats and poor plumbing, chomping at the bit to get their hands on the field space heaters... that and start hitting someone besides the reporters who asked stupid questions about politics and stuff, and stuff,... Darkside! A-hem, confidence was strong since they had already laid an ass-whoopin on the Bombs, who had bombed, in their previous meeting.

The 1st Quarter went as expected as both teams. Both teams coaches refusing to go on the field without personal lap warmers and the Vegas Bombs laying an egg in their first drive while Anarchy settled for a FG mid-way through the quarter. Vegas could do nothing right the next drive either as they kept fighting over space in front of the heat blowers until a fan pointed out after their second drive really looked horrible that hitting the other team actually keeps you warm... They then forced Anarchy to try a second FG from twice as far and low and behold, they missed it. Their offense took the field in acceptable position to start the 2nd Quarter. Anarchy 3, Bombs 0.

Given the ball on the original line of scrimmage rather than where the ball was kicked from is truly old school and that exactly how this game felt. A key play was when QB Heart of A Champion handed off to HB Power Back for a 2 yard gain and a first down! Tackled by NT Bobby Munson, snow flew everywhere tinted red and um, yellow? Ewww... Anyway, after a 5 minute or so drive it was capped off by QB Heart of A Champion handed off to HB Power Back for a 2 yard gain and a touchdown! On the ensuing drive Anarchy rammed the ball down the defenses throat until they were stifled at the Vegas 35. They thought better of trying a fg in such lousy conditions so they punted for a Touchback. Vegas in the mean time wasn't ready to get on the frigid field so they promptly turned it over and gave Mid-West another go at it after one play. Anarchy played true to their name and missed a second field goal after running around like chickens with their heads cut off for the first three downs... Not to be out done it was Vegas' turn to march down the field and miss a FG to which Anarchy said, "Oh no you didn't!" and out did them by missing a half ending FG of their own from farther out than the time they punted. Half ends Vegas 7, Mid-West 3, Fans frozen...

The second half started after the half time show themed" Luau in Winter Wonderland " passed out hand warmers. Much to the delight of the crowds who promptly returned the cheer leaders to their original upright positions...

Anarchy started things off by punting and Vegas followed suit. As not to be out done Mid-West punted it back. Then the Bombs were like "Seriously!?" and did a three and out to which Anarchy played with the ball right close to the end of the quarter and... Punted it back... Did I mention it was cc-c-cold outside? 3rd Quarter ends with no change in score VB 7 MWA 3.

Finally we get some action in the 4th as Vegas Bombs' diesel engines finally warm up a bit. They power and screen their way to the Anarchy 9 yard line before the Mid-West defense stiffens, in a good way, to force another FG attempt. From that distance the Kicker Destin Merchant attempted a 26 yard field goal, and it was good! In this weather that full touchdown lead looked formidable as the Anarchy offense led by 2nd in OMVP race HB. Run DMC went to work. He single-handedly carried the hopes and dreams of his beloved grandma (and maybe a few of the Anarchy players too) to the Vegas 6 yard line then QB Jax Teller pitched to HB Run DMC for a 6 yard gain and a touchdown! Every play on that drive was Run DMC hand offs or pitches.75 of his game-OMVP-performance 189 rushing yards were this "I got this, hold my beer" drive. Score tied now with 6 minutes and 50 seconds left for Vegas to jump out and put a dagger into the hearts of Gamblers with OT as their bet... K Juice Ortiz kicked off 63 yards to KR Power Back for a 28 yard return. Tackled by IN3 The Kraken. They had a great return and were going to start at their own 36 yard line. In four plays, a nice mix of passing and running, they were to mid-field using 2 minutes. In another mniute they used three plays to get to the Mid-West 38 yard line and a third down and long, nine yards to be exact, do they try a mind numbing 55 yarder of a FG? They decide to run and see what they can get safely rather than pass as expected for 3rd and long. They got one yard. Now it's a 54 yard attempt or pooch punt. They like how the word pooch sounds on TV, so they go with that and the punter Bombs it into the end-zone for a touch-back. He is promptly knocked out by the offensive players. This left those gamblers giddy and left Mid-west with the ball on their own 20. Having to go 80 yards or at least close enough for a decent FG attempt in the snow and 17 mph winds made Run DMC look at the time. It had 3 minutes left. With three Time outs and the 2 minute warning he felt confident. After 4 runs they had only gotten to their own 44 and only had 1 minute and 22 second left. Power run for 3 yards got them the first on third and 2. They called their first time out and of course had already ran through the 2 minute warning... On first down they did the unexpected and threw the ball in the air. But it was to Run DMC in the flats and the defense was on him like white on rice for no gain. A second time out was blown and the gamblers with OT were jumping for joy. Only 1 minute and 14 seconds now remained on the clock, it was second and 10 at their own 47 with only one time out in their pockets. QB Jax Teller threw a pass to WR1 Space Invader, who made the catch for a 8 yard gain. Tackled by CB1 CB 2. 0:56 left, 3rd & 3 on the Vegas 46, QB Jax Teller handed off to HB Run DMC for a 4 yard gain and a first down! Tackled by MLB Middle LB with only 0:35 left on the clock. DMVP LB. God Zilla was losing his mind trying to get the defense called while chewing on a offensive lineman's pinkie finger... 1st & 10 Vegas 42, QB Jax Teller pitched to HB Run DMC, who went out of bounds for a 7 yard gain. That stopped the clock with 0:29 left to play. Suddenly the gamblers were getting nervous. 2nd & 3 on the Vegas 35, QB Jax Teller handed off to HB Run DMC AGAIN for a 5 yard gain and a first down! Tackled by MLB God Zilla As he screamed for the oxygen tank! ONE second , ONE SECOND left! Mid-West Anarchy's Head Coach ShadyMcCoy gets his head out of the cheerleader's double insulation "ear muffs" to yell out "(does anyone know the) TIME!" And a time out is called on the field...

From the Vegas Bombs' 30, K Juice Ortiz attempted a 47 yard field goal, and it was good! Game Over, man, game over... Thank Gawd I didn't bet for OT...
