How do I “apply” for a sophomore team this upcoming season so we can try to keep some of our players together?

Also how many teams make the playoffs in total for our league?

Your best bet is probably to PM DigitalDaggers directly and/or open a support ticket ( https://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/support ) to try and get a soph team

4 teams make the playoffs, the top team in each division and then one wildcard team.

If your team is in rookie this year, next year they will go to Sophomore if you renew. You don't have to do anything special. Just make sure you don't check the box that says "reset to rookie"

Bizzarro is correct. Your team will automatically progress to sophomore unless you click the box to reset to rookie. (You have to renew your team of course)
