You're not doing anything wrong, it's hard for DT's to get deflections. In my experience, a good all-around build with 30 deflection gets as many as a DT with 100 deflection - it's a case of diminishing returns

DTs get double-teamed more often, that's why Spin Cycle doesn't get them as many sacks as a comparable DE - the coach can up the chances with scheme, such as lining the DT up next to a star DE with a blitz LB on the same side. But it usually is engineered the other way around, the DT is used to soak up the guard so the LB/star DE can get to the QB

You've put hardly any points into his main skills and it looks like he's getting pancaked a lot... Also a DT that's focus is on deflecting is a bad idea IMO, it should be a secondary thing that you throw left over points into.

Try him at cornerback

I've pretty much tried every kind of pass deflecting build I could think of with pick up players. Couldn't find a way to yield more than 2 deflects per 30 games.

If he's a pass rush build and you dump left over pts into him he might get a few more.

Best pass deflection player in the game. Check out season 31 stats. DT don't get PDs. You need to make a LB and put him in zone defense.

If you want a PD DT, he needs to be powerful and push the lineman back into the QB.
