THE MINXY REPORT-- GAME THREE University Elite #1- Now we are starting to get into the swing of this season
Game of the Week: All The King's Men (13) vs.
Davy Jones' Locker Pirate Ghosts (10): The hometown crowd at Rick Parry Memorial Coliseum was buzzing with nervous energy as they watched their All The King's Men defense take the field with the game tied and 1:29 left on the clock. Seconds earlier the fans had watched All The King's Men cap off an amazing 5 minute long 80 yard drive with a passing touchdown to tie the game 10-10. Now the fans knew that All The King's Men only had to run about a minute and a half off the clock and prevent Davy Jones' Locker Pirate Ghosts from driving 40 yards to prevent a late field goal and force the game into overtime. At the 1:20 mark, Davy Jones' Locker Pirate Ghosts failed to convert a third down, so Kurt Davey, head coach of All The King's Men quickly called a time out to force Davy Jones' Locker Pirate Ghosts to punt the ball on their own 41 yard line with 6 yards to go on 4th down. But DavyJonesLocker had a surprise up his coaching sleeve. Instead of sending his punting unit onto the field on 4th down, he sent his offense out to try and convert a first down on 4th down with 6 yards to go. The hometown crowd at Rick Parry Memorial Coliseum screamed "DEFENSE!!" as this play unfolded:

All The King's Men took full advantage of taking the ball at their opponents' 40 yard line by driving 6 yards in 3 plays and then kicking a 51 yard field goal with no time left on the clock to end the game. Minxy immediately headed to the visitor's locker room after the game to get a post game interview with DavyJonesLocker. Minxy had planned to interview the coach about the questionable play call on the last offensive play of Davy Jones' Locker Pirate Ghosts. Shockingly, the visitor's locker room was chained shut. Minxy pressed her ear to the door and could hear DavyJonesLocker screaming and swearing at his team and the sounds of chairs being thrown against the wall.
