Hope someone might be able to help me fill in some knowledge gaps here:

- Has anyone has had any luck with Rough Cover yet, especially for OLBs or safeties?
- Any thoughts on the utility of Zone Shark for safeties?
- For a while now, it seems like Coverage Tech has gone out of style, but the SAs that are triggered by it, like Cover Expert, seems like it'd stop a lot of big plays in a zone defense. Does Coverage Tech still suck? Is it worth plugging some extra points in it (to like 40-50 or so) to make sure SA fires?

zone shark is only good for "underneath" coverage, so MLB/LOLB/LILB/RILB mostly. fires alot but often fires far away from the actual play so it doesnt do much. ive seen alot of K/L passes from zone shark firing though and even at silver its very good

nobody knows if coverage tech really sucks, or if man coverage sucks, or what. GE had zone guys with no man coverage run man defense and he had some success. some teams have 0 cover tech and their CBs do pretty well. teams like BSB have high cover tech and low man coverage and their CBs do just as well. my thoughts on CBs are footwork, sprint, quickness are the most important stats (and balance now)

from the feedback i heard on rough cover, it sucks and never fires even with high intim or whatever. i doubt its as useful as some of the other SAs for secondary players

zone shark kinda sucks for the investment. It fires mostly away from the play and only lasts so long so the effect is generally wasted.

I made an entire team around it and used heavy under zones and maybe got a kl or ff every so many games from it.

I put gold Rough Cover and 50 intimidation on my pup CB and simmed 10 games with it. It fired roughly twice a game. One game it fired 3 times. 2 games it fired once. Tough investment to make for those results. Currently putting together a defense that uses 80+ intimidation and gold rough cover on the entire secondary. Will be ready by the offseason. I will let ya guys know the results.

I didn't catch the sim change notes, but all three levels of Zone Shark seem to have a duration of 3 seconds. Is that new, because that seems like a fairly long duration for any SA?

seems like it would be. but if you arent near the play it really isnt. i kinda wish the duration was for the play. would make for more hard hitting secondaries.

my entire defense was 100 power tackle, 100 conditioning, 80+ intimidation. Rarely ever got something good from zone shark. All ff's were pretty much monster hits all by itself. Pretty much wastes my time on a gold sa.

I have never invested any points in cov tech or man defense...and I run a couple of man defensive plays.

That should be interesting. You putting max power tackle and gold/silver monster hit too?

dont think that is feasible without a superstar unless you are completely neglecting all cover skills.

going with sure footed and then going to try resolute as the final sa. maybe respec eventually for on an island.

so from the looks of a few games i dont think Rough Cover is worth investing into.

It fires a ton but it doesnt seem to make any sort of difference in %'s of passes caught.

Rough Cover confuses me...if the CB is pushing the WR and causing him to fall isn't that pass interference?

I have 7 players on the field who can fire gold rough cover with 70-90 intimidation and have yet to see a wr fall on the ground despite rough cover firing almost every other play.

Well if the CB impedes the WR running to catch a pass wouldn't that be pass interference as well?

Pretty irrelevant since there are no referees or penalties in the sim.
