Does quickness=acceleration? I figure acceleration is separate from sprinting, as I reckon sprinting is running at top speed. People build HBs with so much speed, I wonder to what extent it's useful. I wonder for edge rushers where top end speed isn't as useful as acceleration if I put too much focus on sprinting. Cheers.

Prior to the Quickness changes a few seasons back you could hit top speed very quickly and maintain it without much of any quickness and 100 sprinting/conditioning. After the changes Quickness certainly plays its part pretty equally.
Edge rushing seems to have regressed since the balance changes tho. Not sure its a direct correlation between how much balance you have or that its in part because there are so many more balance checks. Whatever it is has really made it harder for me to build edge rushing DE's.

Balance and footwork is much more important to edge rushing LBs after the change. They have to make that round about rush, which uses balance and footwork/quickness.

My team with two star de those two have been okay still with the changes but our blitzing lb seems to have hit the bricks right now

ya but your DE's are likely doing alright through spin moves right? Not truly rushing the edge as speedsters? Speed rushers seem so much slower around the edge now. I dunno i am going to continue the experiment but between bad coverage and slower speed DE's this could go really wrong in vet lol...

You need more balance and footwork now on speed rushers.

I may not know much about this game, but one thing I do know defintively is pass-rushing LBs

Ya this is right. We are wanting to make contact wit the oline as soon as possible to spin cycle through them. Then we use speed to hit the qb

Maybe I’m wrong but having built pass rush DE’s and LB’s in the past once they get to vet no matter how much they are built to rush the passer against good teams they dont get many sacks......pass deflections But not enough sacks to justify all those sp. rather go with rush defense and pass rush deflection.

Are you confusing DEs and LBs? I mean you also proved today you didn't know the difference between a safety and a touchback
