The off-season coverage change has made secondary defenders weak against non-deep passes. While it makes sense to have a CB play deep on a fast WR, it doesn't make sense to see other defenders allowing so much space on short/med passes. Something similar to pathing tactics would help a lot(tight/balanced/deep).

ya i thought a heavy dose of balance was supposed to counteract the huge amount of room defenders give receivers in coverage but 70+ balance added to my cb and he is now even worse than he was last season post change.

Yeah passing coverage sucks even more now.

Not for zone

Did you try adding footwork to counter off balance?

Agree, this ought to be a setting. Seems like the cushion is letting up uncontested catches when CBs overrun the WR or LBs play 5 yards off on underneath coverage. I actually preferred being 1 or 2 steps behind so the DB could make a play on the ball.

Some of the short passes to HBs have been a little irritating, where the defender is standing still 3 yards away and lets the catch happen when they would traditionally be right up next to them.

In general, I'm having a hell of a time trying to figure out the right balance between speed, quickness, footwork, and balance on CBs. Coverage tech hasn't felt all that impactful, but I'm still trying to learn how to build a good CB.

Cov tech is useless. Don't use it.
