My bad if other people have already pointed this out, but I have seen stuff like this happening since the changes and it's frustrating as hell.

I know the HB isn't the fastest, but he was running way faster than this as a rookie.

I believe Bort activated the "High Drama" filter so all our offenses move in slow motion. It makes the game more cinematic. Working as intended, of course.

There's a pickup game going into its 5th straight day stuck. Don't think anyone in charge gives a crap about this game for the time being.

I'm thinking it's not a bug. Maybe MJ's replay was. Balance is much more important for general movement now and a heavy balance penalty was stacked on top of that.

Ya but making balance so important that players run at 1/5 speed while untouched makes no sense.

This...it is a damn bug when a HB falls down or my fast as HB runs about 2 fucking MPH with a shit ton of energy. Balance is not needed to run in a straight line...

Basically, there's a piece of inverted code that essentially makes it that once you start losing balance, you're more or less guaranteed to keep losing balance. It's not supposed to be a guaranteed loss on that roll. It can definitely be overcome, and Balance is actually a pretty cheap skill, but that's the current state, and why the results are like they are.

Investment in Balance affects both how much you continue to lose, and how much you recover over time. This part is actually working as intended. It should be noted that heavy rain is a massive penalty to balance, on top of naturally low balance, players are going to be struggling to stay up, let alone sprinting down field.

Though, all that said, I have what I think is much more of an improvement to the system that I've been testing out ony devbox. Instead of the static gain/loss rolls always in effect once off balance, it's more of depreciation system...the longer ago the event that caused you to lose balance, the easier it becomes to recover. The more of a loss that was caused, the longer and more difficult it becomes to recover. It creates more of a consistent system than having a balance cascade after making a slight cut.

These changes will likely end up coming out sometime after Christmas, whenever we are both back in town. I was going to hold off until the off-season, but didn't realize how bad the results would end up being.
