Especially on offense? The ability to make a right-side play go left or a left-side play go right might open up a lot of interesting options...

It seems like a good idea but it would be disastrous, counters and rollouts would be unstopable.
I don't like it for GLB.

are you saying the cpu audibles? If so, way too dangerous. If you mean any play that has one going to the right should have a mirror play going to the left then I agree 100%

All the OCs will love this idea. Too bad they will have to learn to DC after they all rage quit.
Be careful what you ask for.
Beyond terrible suggestion.
If it's not a mirror play just a similar play to the other side then it is ok. If it causes new formations where the TE is flipped then it needs to be a new formation.

Mirroring plays makes little sense. Like OSIRIS said, if a TE is flipped to another side, in a real life football game, the defense would recognize the formation and orient itself based on the strong side.
For the sake of the game it makes the most sense to keep it as is. It might be cool to see plays run both directions and add some variety to watching the game, but again, only if the defense is flipped as well.

eh i certainly wouldnt mind more formations. defense and offense are pretty stale these days between a hand full of plays.

I think a big reason play calling is "stale" with a lot of teams is cause those teams just want to spam the top main plays, which in turn causes the opponent to have to spam top plays to remain competitive. If people would utilize more of the playbook, it could be a little more exotic games. I think the play knowledge thing should get a major in game buff!
If the same play is seen 3 times then defenders start jumping routes or cutting off the rusher and so on, then offensively as well the HB could start cutting to a better gap or something the QB would start hitting better targets against the same defensive plays at opportune times.
Force people to start expanding the playbooks, thus causing more fluxation in player builds.

defensively there just isnt that wide arrange of plays that hold of much use against the top half of the offensive playbook.

You try something new defensively and bi counter sweep left has 30 ypc.
Both of these still play into what I'm saying. With a major buff to IN GAME play knowledge, the offense can't just keep using the top plays either. And with the defensive it would be how many times the play was used against the same offense set (2wr or 2te). So the lack of def playbook depth could correlate with the more viable offensive plays.
So example: def uses; 4-3 cover 1 man under vs 2TE set. Would be 1 usage, then use same play against offense 2WR set and it would count as a seperate 1 usage.

I think a buff to play knowledge/recognition would be cool

Still not even sure what the effect is. I know there is some, but it's hard to gauge.

That is the point...it doesn't do much right now.
