bort didnt spend much time on ST coding. i wish i had saved the play but years ago, i saw a replay where half the defensive team got to the holder so fast that the kicker never actually got near the ball, but somehow it was kicked for the fg. just too funny seeing the ball kicked with the kicker still 2-3 yards away....lol

Also there's a few other issues with replays and stuff. I remember somewhere in here is posted a play where, after a fumble, the ball bounced away from the pile of dots where the initial fumble occurred and lay on the ground for minutes and minutes while every dot on the field simply kept diving into the pile over, and over, and over, and over.... I nearly shat myself laughing at it. I've seen the OP's replay before where a dot slipped through the line and ran through the kicker, holder, ball, everything... and nothing happened except for a 'Good' result on the try.

And of course the standing explanation of the visual is that its secondary--the "game result" is in the code (and the text) and the visual is merely a representation of what took place. Sometimes the visual is whack in that regard.

Best part is he still missed the kick.

Jedi mind tricks imo

Roughing the kicker is a bitch in dotball. Suspension, fines to both the dot and the team... Dots are paranoid.

Fwiw...

Blocking assignments can get wonky when there's that many dots around. So it was either create an entire new blocking script for FGs/XPs or just make kicks amazingly hard to block Mathematically. Bort went the math route.

It's basically the same reason the d-line and LBs are locked into position in the DPC. It prevents (mostly) exploits in the code caused by over loading a blocker.

actually yes, and swat ball, those are the only 2 things that help blocking kicks, and im almost positive that its only swat ball.

Great things to have but only IF it's a natural part of the build because if you're building a dot JUST to be a FG blocker... uh... um... that just might be the very definition of futility.

I don't think anyone would build a FG blocker, but plenty have built Power D-lineman with swat ball to knock down passes. Not getting these guys on your FG block team would be a mistake.
