How should I invest his points until he is vet? I was going to max sprint/power possibly carry grip, but not sure what to work on next.

Says the person who nerfed the key cog in his offense by adding quickness.

I'd take quick/balance/footwork to 25-30 and then go crazy on toughness

What you want in the end is max conditioning and power running, max toughness, 35 footwork so his counters doesn't bug out, at least 40 quickness, more balance, 80-90 carrying grip, at least 50 carrying awr. Max heart wont hurt. You could max out sprinting or leave it around that, its expensive as fq, depends if you want the other skills higher.

For WRs.

Quickness = acceleration

Not that relevant for Power HBs. (Elusives another story.)

For HBs, it's Sprinting+Conditioning because you want to maintain top speed since Energy levels intra-play matter so much. It's why you can have 50 Sprinting+100 Conditioning and still be the fastest player on the field.

The real value of Quickness is maintaining top speed while turning - which is precisely what WRs do/need.

Eh there is some value in being able to accelerate out of a broken tackle and being able to get to full speed before hitting the hole. I'd stay under 45 as a power back though. If you really want to be more elusive as a powerback they use footwork quite well on inside running and the investment to get it up to 45 is fairly cheap. 35 quick and 45 footwork is surprisingly nimble for how low those numbers are... though still not going to help you move like an elusive back on the outside. Footwork also helps maintain speed going through the line when you have to adjust the hole you are hitting which is massive for powerbacks and combos who plan on running up the gut. It was the secret to Hype being able to play on the same team as Zombie, combos are notoriously mediocre up the gut and Hype was fantastic because of his 65 footwork.

If only I'd not fucked him up beyond recognition for his second season people might actually have respected him :/

I dunno. We made the investment on Fritz in footwork to 40 for the 2 counters to work correctly and I believe it was the worst decision ever to take away from his extra balance for it. His up the middle running did not get better at all.

How important is balance to a power back? Ive heard contradicting views.

I think balance always helps, but makes more susceptible to fumbles? Don't know.

Tough to say. I felt like Fritz just broke more tackles. Then again the nerf to power backs this season could have an influence on balance too.
